Tough Crowd cancelled

http://www.cringehumor.net/savetoughcrowd/

Man, I didn't like this show at all at first, but over the last few months it's grown to be my favorite late-night show. I've never understood how Quinn gets so much work, but he and all his friends on the show really grew on me.

It was also nice to have an entertaining show that often points out all of the liberal bullshit that's out there. The Daily Show has been spewing so much liberal crap this year that it's become unwatchable.

Haha, I saw the news about the cancellation on another forum and it was like 2 pages of posts before anybody other than the thread starter talked about how much they liked the show.

I was just thinking about the roast they're going to have on LCS tonight. I've never liked roasts because they seem so forced. I think the concept of comics making fun of each other is great and Tough Crowd made it much more natural.

I am a huge Tough Crowd fan. I have really always enjoyed the interaction of comics more than the discussion of politics. I would pay money to just have some comics sit there and make fun of each other.

Every episode was the same. They had the same 3 comics and then some unkown writer or somebody else no one cares about. They need to bring back the Colin Quinn show that was on NBC a few years ago. Now that was some funny shit.

I watched a few episodes, but it became a tired concept. Politically Incorrect was far more entertaining and interesting. This show was just a wannabe.

PI was a more serious show. TC was more about comedians riffing off each other. If nothing else, at least TC was politically incorrect. I'm not sure if I could say that about PI. Of course I wouldn't be the best judge since I'm not really offended by anything.

I'm surprised it lasted this long...

Colin Quinn has taken his "bombing comic" schtick way, way too far in life.

I tried watching this show a few times, but Colin Quinn's delivery is so terrible, he is difficult to watch. As my husband put it, Colin Quinn's timing is so bad he could mess up a knock-knock joke.

He would say funny things, but the way he talks in run-on sentences and weird pauses makes him hard to laugh at.

Blast it all to hell!!! I love this show. It's beyond me why they're cancelling it when they don't spend any money on it in the first place. Man I'm gonna miss this show.

[foggy memory of a great show moment]
Dennis Leary: Look at this guy. All your pre-written jokes. Can't shut him up.
Greg Giraldo: Ya. That's kinda what we do here Dennis. It's a comedy show. Maybe if you had done a little bit more that on The Job you'd still have your show.

That was almost a fist fight. It was great.

I enjoyed the show, I wasn't obsessive watching it, but it had some great moments.

What's replacing it in the 11:30 timeslot?

Did anyone see last night's ep w/ Colin's John Kerry intro?

They are doing their final show now. Saying good bye, etc and doing a bit of post mortem on the show.

Collin (chewing out DiPaolo): I hope all the Red Sox die and when the Steelers beat the Patriots I was happy!

(Female Audience member cheers)

DiPaolo (towards audience): Shut up you whore!

I only got into this show during the past few months. I liked it and thought it provided some balance to the Daily Show. Despite the fact that I couldn't stand Colin Quinn when he was on Weekend Update, I thought he did a good job on this.

So, now what? Is Comedy Central going to pump out more shit like Crossballs or Drawn Together for this time slot? Or maybe they'll just throw Mad TV there, bringing the airings of that show up to 18 1/2 hours per day.

I really don't understand Comedy Central's logic here. I realize that the show is not doing Daily Show numbers (but really, other than Reno 911!, South Park and Chapelle's Show, what is?) but it takes like nothing in the way of money to produce.

Furthermore, they gave the show like zero promotion; I can't count how many Reno 911! or Drawn Together ads I see in an hour. With Tough Crowd, I think I saw one or two promos during The Daily Show.

I may not have agreed with Colin's right leaning politics, but at least he tried to give reason for why he felt the way he did. It may have come on strong, but it did give balance after watching the heavily left leaning Daily Show. Oh well, I guess I'll wait 15 years so I can see Quinn headlining a Carnival cruise (joke from Wednesday)!

In the words of Mr. Quinn, "Shuddup Stupid!"

I was a big Tough Crowd fan. Them putting big money behind crap like Drawn Together makes the cancellation even more painful.
