I always remember her from Smokin' Aces, Huslte & Flow, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Lovely looking lady.

I remember she was pissed because she wasn't featured on an EW or People or something similar cover for Person of Interest even though the two leading white male characters were. That's about all I know.

Big question who is the dad in Mumford and Sons?
It looks like they changed their sound to become more like the Script or that type of band.
Kate McKinnon is probably the best SNL actress who has every played Hillary Clinton because she has all the scary mannerisms and the evil look lol.

The guys in Mumford and Sons look like they've aged a decade in the last 5 years. When did Carey Mulligan's husband turn into Brendan Fraser?
Anyway, episode was weak overall but a few decent spots. I actually don't mind the new Mumford and Sons, it's catchy and fairly well written, and doesn't sound identical to the first two albums (the second album was a carbon copy of the first but not as well written). I did like Believe's sound more than The Wolf's though.

The musical opening numbers have been awful lately. There'd been some pretty good ones in the past, but the one with Henson and The Rock's a few weeks ago were just awful. It's not even the lyrics, it's the melody - just awful and not catchy at all, IMO.

I thought her line about how she is hosting only because white people now know who she is was playing the race card unfairly. It's not like she was this huge star known only to black people. Maybe Kevin Hart fit that bill when he first hosted.
Other than that, the show was a total slog saved only by McKinnon. God, I love her.
Billy Crystal's appearance makes me think that his lazy, self important version of himself on The Comedians is not such a stretch.
Update would definitely be better if that let Che loose to fire off more politically charged material.
Remember when people thought Cecily Strong was going to be a break-out star from SNL? Na ganna happan.

Scarlett Johansson has just been announced as the host for the May 2 show.
Here's a free sketch idea for you, Lorne.
SJ plays a clerk at a Victoria's Secret, and male customers keep asking her to model the lingerie so they can see what it will look like on a real person, and she keeps doing it. Finally, McKinnon comes in and makes the same request and when SJ comes out of the changing room, they just end up making out for like five minutes.

So there was a rumor that Strong was canned from WU because Jost wanted her gone. Does anyone know if that was true? I think that she said she wanted to concentrate on the rest of the show, but it seems like a bit of a demotion.

It wasn't a bad episode but it wasn't as strong as the past two so it definitely felt weaker.
I still like Cecily Strong and feel that she's talented but I don't think she was very good on the WU role. She's more adept at the skits.

The line Kenan had in the monologue was worth the price of admission alone... "I'd be starring in Good Burger VII right now!" It evoked a chuckle out of me as a longtime Kenan and Kel + All That fan, if nothing else.

Re: SNL (s40e18) -- 04/11/15 -- H: Taraji P. Henson -- MG: Mumford & Sons
All I remember over her first three or so episodes was thinking how on God's green earth *anyone* could have watched *any* auditions of her performing WU and not come away screaming in agonizingly tortured horror. There are just some things some people don't have it in them to do - for Strong, reading bitingly sardonic news/skits as part of a duo on a live comedy broadcast is one of those things.
It was a train wreck disaster from the get go - every single time. That first episode, from what I recall... my God. Horrible: Numerous mistakes, some of the worst comedic timing I've ever seen, a wooden performance that made Pinocchio seem as though he was real flesh and blood all along, and absolutely no chemistry whatsoever with Jost. What's more, her suckage was actually infectious - it made Jost appear to be far, far, faaaaaar worse on WU than he ended up being.
So I dunno what backstage drama might've ensued surrounding her removal, but I have to imagine it wasn't half the behind the scenes shenanigans that allowed her to get the gig in the first place.
