I noticed some of the interview footage was the same as what's on the DVD sets. Just a few clips, the rest was all new to me. A very good special actually. I enjoyed it alot. Especially how they mirrored the beginning of the show with the show's episodes where Jerry & George were making a show.

Ugh, what a boring and annoying special. A bunch of people sucking each others cocks and remarking how innovative they were.

First commercial, and I an see-sawing between hating and really liking it. An elementary clip show quickly saved by a decent documentary. I wish they had made it for a crowd that had never seen the show before.

Was anyone else watching the HD West Coast show? There was a good minute and a half of simply different iterations of the NBC logo on black background. And then once they picked the show up again, it had gone back to SD for a while, then it seemed like someone flipped the HD switch again. Very strange.

Nothing wrong with that from me. Have you seen what is on TV since Seinfeld left the air? 98% of it is crap, nothing innovative. The other 2%? Scrubs and Arrested Development. Just reiterates how great this show really was. One of the greatest of all time.

I have seen all the episodes dozens of times, yet was still lauging out loud last night during the clips. to the Seinfeld gang.

BTW, has another show ever launched as many catch phrases and memorable lines than Seinfeld?

I think you have to place Seinfeld in its context; they showed a promo of the season where 4 episodes premiered and the schedule was:

Cosby Show
A Different World
Cheers
Seinfeld

Everyone of those shows (except for Seinfeld) was good but very formulaic. Now, every show wants to be Seinfeld.

The issue was his stand-up routine in 1987, two years before the show premiered.

Boy, you don't give up, do you?

The NBC logo on black background is the local break period. Networks run something here on the HD feed since there are still stations that cant easily put local commercials into the HD feed. This way its not sitting in complete black for a minute or two. Of course, this doesnt explain why it came back in SD though.

This was promoted as the first time Seinfeld clips would be presented in high-definition, but I wasnt impressed. I figured they would be pillarboxed, as they were, and they were definitely cleaned up, but they didnt look as good as I had expected.

Jerry back in the club talking about the "Special" isn't on the DVD but that's only about 20 new seconds of material. Everything else seemed the same.
