This episode sort of lost steam after a good start with the group of jury members going to a crime scene and having to experience the murder of the man on trial for murder himself. It lost steam when the other subplot, Ray Jr. going missing, kicked in.
Horatio got Ray Jr. off by getting lucky with a videotape of night's activities, otherwise, Ray Jr. was facing juvie for quite a few years.
The true murderer wasn't hard to figure out as soon as Calleigh looked at the photo of the murder weapon. They need to have more plausible suspects to keep the mysteries harder to solve.
It was good to see Gunn (from Angel) on TV again.
I don't think Horatio got to wear sunglasses in this episode.

I totally did not buy some essential plot points. I didn't buy that a woman couldn't thrust a knife into someone further than 2 inches and definately didn't buy the motive behind the murder. The writers really fell apart on that one. She would have freaked if she saw herself hurting her mother. Too bad because it could have been a solid episode otherwise.

Great opening sequence, but the rest was just sub-par.

I think is time for the writers to make up their minds.

But her ass did look good in those white pants as she was walking away with the kid and boyfriend at the end.

I think this season will see the horatio yelena IA/DA guy thing come to a head. there will be a confrontation btw H and the guy, over some case, and that will lead to other stuff.
