I'll be watching it live -- thanks for the reminder. I caught the first show of the first season when it premiered because there was nothing else on and I was simply flipping through channels. I've been "hooked" ever since. It's not the best show ever, but its a fun show to watch (and then come to the thread and make fun of).

So, I've never watched the show. Is this something I can jump in on now and not have to worry about three years (or 3 days) of backstory to enjoy?

I would say so. This year they are kinda starting over, so Jack Bauer is all you need to know. And you should know all about him after tonight.

Can't wait for it tonight, and then again tomorrow as well. 4 hours of Jack in 2 days. Can't beat that. It almost makes those 5 week breaks of prior years forgiveable.

I would say PLEASE do not do this. Yes, you could, but it's an unbelievable experience to watch a full season on DVD in one weekend if you haven't seen it before. That's what I did for season 1 right before season 2 started. And you have that opportunity 3 times over.

Granted, you could still go back and watch the first 3 seasons after watching this season but it would take A LOT away from the experience.

I beg you to go the DVD route. I promise that you will never regret that decision.

If your going to wait until this comes out on DVD. Then go out and get seasons 1, 2, and 3 now. This show is awesome. Although watching the prior seasons is not mandatory, it is recommended. Much of the Nina and Sheri backstories were a big part of season three. We could see a few cameos this season that will not make sense if you did not know who they were in previous seasons.

Can't wait 'til tonight.
There's no time!!!

I just warmed up for the big event by watching the prequel on the Season 3 DVD. Good background info for the new season. And it's great to hear Jack use the language you know he WANTS to use on TV...

Can you give more info on this? I don't own Season 3 but would be interested in checking it out (netflix or whatever). What disc is it on? Thanks.

I'm so excited about the premiere - two nights of it no less. I would be tempted to wait until it arrives on DVD but I'm just too impatient.

then why the hell did you start a discussion thread for it? I would suggest you stay far far away from this thread after it airs on the west coast because then the spoilers will fly.

I don't see how someone can wait for the dvds. You want to see them back to back? You do realize that a week wait is a hell of a lot better than a 9 month wait for the dvds.

Yes, I want to see them back to back. I don't care about the wait. I will get to see it this year(probably around December), plus its more exciting not knowing anything and not having to sit through commercials which terribly hurt the pacing. This is definetly a show that is meant to be watched on DVD, and I plan to continue to watch 24 in that way ONLY

The chick from Boomtown looks pretty good in her new digs here.

You can tell danger-junkie Jack is already feeling the adrenaline rush...

They just started placing the nodes!

I wish Tony was there to tell them to "Shut down your sockets!"

I hope they only brought Chloe back to kill her off. I can't stand her character.

Hey.... I think the time is off by 10 minutes.

It's fun just naming which Canadian Syndicated show the characters are from.

So far I've got Madeline from La Femme Nikita
The President from Stargate SG-1
The Alien from First Wave.

These new people bored me so I turned it off about 20 minutes in

Oh well, the first 3 seasons were great.

This is definitely good stuff, better start than last year. Jack is hard core.

And by good stuff, I mean fun, silly, wacky, and entertaining.
