Blech.
Once Rob got the boot it was all downhill. I didn't like him, but I really came to enjoy how he played the game. I hated "the beautiful girls" from the beginning, and it's pathetic to see shallow and vain win out over hard work and intensity.
Christy Christy Christy--Why? WHY would you vote from the person who treated you like garbage and whom you swore would never get your vote? Really, really lame.
Thumbs up to Butch for having the depth to vote for the person who deserved to win, rather than voting for the beautiful one (How many times did she call HERSELF beautiful?)
Alex is a jackas$, Heidi is dumb as a stump, and Rob is the smartest person never to win.
And now it's done.
P.S. Best quote from that article posted above: "Deena apparently voted based on who did not have a penis."

Now that was a good question. It goes to the heart of the matter: flippancy.
(As in why should any on the jury care who gets the big prize when no one on the jury is getting the loot).

Anyone think this came down to factors outside of the game, like Jenna's mother having cancer? A comment was made that Matt didn't need the money...how much exactly does he make? Is his family wealthy? With such a lopsided vote, I could see this happening...

That is a legitimate question if you have absolutely no preference.

Anyway, I was also dissappointed by the result. Great season nonetheless. The producers should have given Rob and extra $1Million for making this season so great. He was so sneaky and evil, and yet funny and self-depricating. It was a terrific job.
Too bad he lost the final challenge, but has a man EVER won a balance-related challenge on any Survivor season? I don't think so. The moment they headed for the beams, I knew who the final 2 would be.
I think it's disingenuous for Heidi and Jenna to claim they took off their clothes because they were so hungry. No one asked them to do that. Heidi offered, knowing full-well that food rewards would be available soon. Jenna agreed instantly as well. They did it to be sexy to the guys and stick around longer, which is fine. Remember the promos? Jenna said something like "Yeah, I might get naked if it helps me stick around longer". Like I said, fine, use every advantage. Just don't blame it on hunger later.

The strongest player doesn't win these things because the person who wins that last immunity gets to pick who he/she wants to go against. Of course they're going to get rid of the strongest player. To win Survivor, or any of these "elimination" shows, you have to be 2nd or 3rd best.

I didn't get to watch the whole season but I watched as much as I could.
I don't understand why everyone thought Rob played the game so well. He lied to EVERYONE and if I was on the jury, there's no way in hek that I'd ever vote for him...unless the other person backstabbed me as well.
Like I said, I didn't watch the whole show, but at first it seemed like Jenna would've had an easier time against Rob cuz he was such a big liar. However, at the reunion show, a lot of the jurors would've voted for Rob had Jenna picked him instead of Matt to be in the final 2. Once again, I couldn't stand Rob cuz he had zero integrity. He reminded me of follow college students who would lie and cheat their way to the top cuz of the grading curve.
I also thought that Dave's question was retarded. He said that he wanted to see who was honest and who pulled an answer out of his/her @ss. I think he thought that Matt was doing just that while Jenna was giving a more honest answer and that's why he voted for Jenna.
In regards to Heidi's question, I think when after both answered Rob, she was just waiting to hear that Jenna would say that Heidi deserved to be in the final two.
Like someone else posted, when Jenna & Matt were on the CBS morning show they sidestepped the question on if they were a couple. To me they're definitely together and they couldn't have made it more obvious.
Finally, was it just me or was Jenna hot as hek on the reunion show? She looked like crap on the island, but she was gorgeous on the reunion show. Definitely the hottest contestant in my opinion. She looked better than Heidi. Shawna looked so blah on the reunion show, definitely looked better while in the Amazon.

Not true. Richard was definitely the strongest player in Survivor I. Brian was definitely the strongest in Survivor: Thailand. Ethan was the strongest in Survivor: Africa.

Yeah - that whole hand-holding seemed kind of strange to me. It would not surprise me if they are a couple. I also thought Jenna looked a lot better - amazing what some makeup and a little meat on the bones can do.
Jenna will be on Howard Stern tomorrow and I expect that to be the most revealing interview that she does.

I do think that people equate "working hard, providing food/warmth/fire for the tribe" as positive attributes in the game, but that's just not how the game is set up. The game requires interpersonal relationships and lining up people to be on your side over the other person's side. The conditions from living off the land is just one big obstacle.
Repeat after me: Survivor is not a meritocracy.

Well said. If working hard was the most important element of the game, I would probably not be nearly as interested in watching.

I loved it when Heidi said that Jenna was her hero.
Way to shoot for the stars, babe. Instead of idolizing Rosa Parks, Elizabeth Dole, or some other woman who has actually done something meaningful, you choose another bimbo like yourself. I guess that's about right.

Oh no, sorry if I confused some people. I thought the question was so dumb too, and have no clue what kind of answer I would make up. I just thought Jenna didn't even try to think of one, or thought and was like oh sh@t I better just throw out some canned response.. At least matt made his up. Of course people are gonna perceive you as better if you say something like she did, same goes for saying I want to take the best player, then in fact choosing the one she had a better chance against... She/He they all say what you want the others to hear.
I think the whole jury thing is so dumb anyways, you already know the answer to their questions before they say them. Of course they're going to admit to "seeing the light" or growing stronger etc.. I think the best questions are simply asking them something personal about themselves, and seeing if they remember being told that.. Like the guy who's like where was I from or something like that, that one year. At least it shows the person listened and took a little time to know them.
I don't need to hear, I just had to raise my level answers, or all that crap.

I agree, the game isn't setup that way, that's why I said I think they should add some element, where there is rewards of some type for work, effort etc.. It's just to easy to win being lazy and stuff.. She should have been around, simply because she didnt' do anything to help the tribe.
Maybe, do something like on real world, where they have to have confessionals once a week. Instead of that though, make it so each has to do a certain task etc.. else they're penalized in some manner, thrown off etc. Just think how entertaining it would be to see somebody like heidi have to cut/gather wood. She's so athletic afterall
There def is a large part of getting to know the others, but I dont' see how any person of any merit, can sit around and not try to help their fellow tribe mates.

What I can't figure out is why people work their butts off if there are lazy people in their tribe. I'd be doing as much as the laziest person was doing if I were in a tribe. Why bust your butt if you lose out on the social aspect of the game? Rob did say it best: "While others are building shelter, I'm building relationships."

I believe that in survivor anything goes until the final two are reached. If someone gets out-maneuvered and voted off they should only be mad at themselves for not seeing it coming.
Once down to the final 2 it would be nice to see the jury put their personal feelings to the side and look at the final two survivors and vote for the one that has played the game the best.
If Rob was in the final two he should have won hands down. However he was voted out and of the two that were left it would be hard to convince me that Jenna was the better player. Matt should have won. Although I don't understand the votes of a few people the one I was most disappointed with was Rob. If Rob was in the final two he would have wanted people to vote for him because he did a better job playing the game. He did not give Matt the same consideration.

I don't know why this one is so hard to understand. Without Rob, Matt would not have gotten close to the final 2. The same cannot be said about Jenna, especially when you consider that she won half of the individual ICs. I have to think that this was the way Rob looked at it. I'm sure that Rob thought that Jenna was a better player than Matt.

Matt won a few challenges as well. In fact Rob couldn't vote him out at the times he wanted to. Matt outplayed Rob by getting Jenna to pick him. Rob's just a sore loser.
