I loved this show way back before it got (prematurely) yanked.. At the time, i wouldn't admit that this show was a "soap", as I don't watch soaps!

Anyways, did anyone else watch this show before? Occasionally, you see the old cast pop up in a bunch of different shows (Kyle Chandler in Early Edition, Tammy Lauren in Martial Law's first season, Mr. Sloan in SCRUBS as Dr. Kelso!)...

I know you could probably call 90210 and Melrose Place as other primetime soaps (not that i actually ever watched those! ), but in today's lineup, what else would be considered a Primetime soap opera?

I loved Homefront!

But I wouldn't call it a soap, it was just a really well-written drama a la "Once & Again".

I loved Homefront too.

I also used to watch Dallas & LA Law and I'm about to end 5 years of watching Dawson's Creek.

I remember when it was in danger of being canceled, even Dear Abby wrote a bit in her column pleading with readers to help save the show.

Has anyone seen this series available on TV lately? I know it was on TVLand a few years back, from which I was able to create some video tapes. Too bad RTV4xxx/DVarchive wasn't around at the time to save it into digital form.

Anyways, i've had people tell me that Homefront WAS and WASN'T a soap. I'd also consider it a drama instead, but someone else was trying to convice me otherwise. And other than possibly those cheesy reality shows i watch (Bachelor?) i don't know what else i'd consider "soap"-y in today's primetime..

Homefront was a good show. I loved the cast in that one. It did get the shaft prematurely - I haven't thought about that show in a long time...

Homefront was such an excellent show. I loved it, which is the kiss of death for any program, period. I could write a book about all of the shows that I start watching that get cancelled. Sometimes in the first season, sometimes the second.

I believe it's one of the reasons I watch so many reality shows now. My scripted beauties bite the dust (My So-Called Life hurt the most). I tried to trick the networks, I didn't start watching Once & Again until the second season - bah!

Anyways, Homefront was sorely missed and I'd buy the DVD in a hot second.

Hmm.. doing some research on this. Even http://www.jumptheshark.com users had very high praise for this show. However, apparently when Homefront originally aired in 1991-93, it was overshadowed by NBC's "I'll Fly Away".

I don't even remember "I'll Fly Away"!

Maybe i should watch my old Homefront tapes. It's always a good time to watch the Lemo Tomato Juice girl .. although I really liked Kelly Rutherford's character too.

Wow. Anyone know if DirecTV has any plans to add this?

I fille dout a request on the GoodTV site, but I couldn't find anything similar on the DirecTV site. Does anyone know their email address?
