Also, the commercial had him saying the elks were from "Scarsdale" or "Scarborough", but in the episode I believe it came out "Pittsburgh"......... Regardless, very funny stuff

It should be pointed out that FOX marketing is pretty atrocious. They advertise the "funniest" moments from the episode yet they don't even make the final cut. Besides that "WHATEVVVVVVER" line was so horribly dubbed that it couldn't be possible that the line made it into the episode.

I have to cast my vote for this as the worst new episode of the season. A couple of minor chuckles, not much more. Seemed scattered & un-funny most of the way through. Bummer.

While there were some great jokes (Moe's "Well then this is all going to be new to you" was my fave) I have to agree with those who say the plots are getting weaker lately. This was one of those "scattershot" episodes where nothing really flowed together well at all... I mean, it was Christmas in the beginning and they air this episode nearly in MAY, what's up with that? Still, some funny things to hear.

Personally, I didn't like the Gollum joke. I think if they had to do it, which I'm not sure they had to do, they could have made it a lot funnier than that.

The episode seemed like it was written by someone who's never even seen a Simpsons episode before, but has only been told what they're like.
