Letterman's Guest Hosts This Week Are:

From Zap2it.com:

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - While David Letterman is recovering nicely from a case of shingles, he's not ready to return to work hosting CBS' "The Late Show" just yet. His doctor has ordered another week of down time, which means a slate of guest hosts has been booked to fill his seat next week.

Whoopi Goldberg will start things off on Monday (March 10), followed by actor Vince Vaughn on Tuesday. Elvis Costello will lead the band, and everything else, on Wednesday, and be followed by Will Ferrell on Thursday.

Friday's host will be announced sometime during the week.

"Dave's condition continues to improve and his overall health is excellent, but a complete recovery will require some additional time," says Letterman's physician, Dr. Louis J. Arrone. "Dave's principal treatment at this point is rest."

Bruce Willis, John McEnroe and Regis Philbin were on hand to take over the first few days Letterman was sidelined before the Ed Sullivan theater went dark for a week as had been originally scheduled.

The Will Ferrell one will be good to watch. Vince Vaughn might be good too.

I sort of enjoyed McEnroe when I caught that. I think Vince might be pretty good.

For Sure Will and Vince should be good ones, and I also will enjoy Declan McManus as host...

They should invite Conan O'Brien to guest host. Now that would be much much more interesting.

I'd rather have Steve Martin than Whoppi, the majority of Steve Martin's appearances on the late show have been great.

I think NBC would die and close up shop before they let Conan guest host for Dave. Nice thought though.

Looking forward to Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell. Not looking forward to Whoopi - worst choice they could have possibly made in finding a guest host. I'd prefer the guy w/ Down's Syndrome who played "Corky" on Life Goes On to Whoopi.

Bill Murray might be good.

This week, the only one I'm interested in watching is Will Ferrell.

What about the Zappa kid? Why don't they get him to guest host, whenever I see him on the show he's nuts. Anyother good choice would be Tina Fey, but I'm guessing she's contracted with NBC and wouldn't be allowed to host.

Only need one more for Friday night: Whoopi on Monday, Vince on Tuesday, Elvis on Wednesday, and Will on Thursday.

I've heard that Letterman tapes the Friday shows on Thursdays--if that's true (anyone know for sure?), then if they kept that pattern for this week, then it would make sense that if Will Farrell was the Thursday host, then he would be the Friday host as well--would be much easier than bringing in a new host right after the Thursday show was taped.

Yes, Letterman takes a three-day weekend. He films Friday's installment after Thursday's.

Dave was on Conan's show within a few weeks of Conan's debut in 1993. It was a cool interview.

Conan: When I got this show. . .
Dave: How did you get this show?
Conan: It was a theme-writing contest. "What would I do with a talk show." I was fourth.

Yea, maybe he'll try and kick Will Ferrell in the head now.
