Hmmm, I posted something here yesterday and now its gone.
Two reasons I wont watch, its not a continuation of the story and its on Sci Fi.
They dont have the budget for Farscape but have the budget for this????????

Well, reading that critique for what the similarities and differences are it looks like they started off filling in the gaps in the Cylons' history, giving them their own mythology - but then the producers/writers went WAY overboard in making all those changes.
They had an opportunity to bring back a GREAT show (the original series WAS great - it had an epic feel and a mythology that was unmatched up to that time) - but it looks like they've blown it.
I was really hoping that Richard Hatch's idea for a revamped and CONTINUED Galactica would see the light of day, but I guess that will never happen.
This will probably be the end of this "franchise."

And now they have cast Adama:

Edward James Olmos is "close" to signing a deal.
Mary McDonnell has apparently been cast as "President Laura Roslin" (a character not in the original 1978 version).
In other news, Galacticon 2003 is ramping up for the 25th anniversary of the series: http://www.galacticonevents.com/index2.html

the viper looks close to the original, pretty sweet. and I have no problem with the pilot's gear
they should have found a way to get Larson and Hatch to come to an agreement about using Hatch's idea of setting it 20 years after the original and using the old actors to be the high ranking people and new actors to be the low ranking people

Given the earlier description of the Galactica, can't wait to see how they mess that up.
But, on the plus side, the props look good so far.
Baltar is a little young, isn't he?

All I have to say about this remake is that the props look good I wonder what the cylons and it's fighters look like? as for the cast I consider qusetionable Edward James Almos as Commander Adama? no way I can imagine him playing that character with his Lt. Castillo constipated look that he used on Miami Vice. Other than that this series is doomed from the start just like Galactica 1980 but only on steroids.
