Primetime - the Porno show

Anyone else watch this last night? It was a pretty neat expose on Porn and one girl from Utah who entered the biz and is makeing cash now...some of you might know her... Bella Donna?

It's sad though really, her Mom was pissed that she was in porn and crying and stuff..and the girl was crying because she said she hated herself but put on a show essentially for the $$. But then they showed a where is she now and she's winning porn awards, and brought an old friend into the biz. And what's worse is her mom who was die hard against this business was trying to manage a part of her career. So the moral of the story is, even if your mom hates that you are in the Porn industry and crys nightly about it, once she realizes that she too can make money, she'll want to be your manager.

What did you guys think?

This topic or at least Bella Donna's career is being discussed over on AdultDVDTalk. I didnt see the Primetime special, but "mainstream" media seems to take a negative look at anyone that is in or interested in entering the adult entertainment industry.

Not that they're doing much more than selling T&A themselves, more than half of time...

(One of next fall's network dramas is supposed to be a PG-rated Boogie Nights-type soap opera in the "adult film" world, by the way...)

That's because the existance of the adult entertainment industry points out that the "regular" entertainment industry is a bunch of whores too. The entertainment industry doesn't like to admit that the same ego, competitivness, whoring, desire to humiliate oneself, self-destructivness, etc. drive both industries

Isn't there a reality series about Seymore Butts, his mom, their company, etc, that's supposed to air on HBO or Showtime soon? I know I read about it a couple times... Did that fall thru?

i thought quite differently about that, though. i was thinking that she would be her manager in order to keep an eye on her safety.. but, as they said, it didn't work out.. probably, 1) because who, in their right mind, could watch their kid having sex for the camera, and 2) she was being too overly protective and inhibiting the work.. those were my thoughts about that bit at the end about her mother..

PBS's 'Frontline' did a very similar show about a year ago that I thought was better:

What is interesting is that our local PBS station manager refused to air the show because he thought it was too racy. It would not surprise me at all if your local ABC affiliate did the same thing and blacked out Diane Sawyer's show last night.

I saw it and it really touched me. A person has to have a really low self esteem and a sense of self respect to sell themselves like that.

I can't think of her name right now, but there's a pretty popular porn star whose mom is always there on set during her scenes. Her mom acts like she's not into it at all, but she just wants to be there for her daughter... weird is all I got to say. (This was learned from a Howard Stern show with both of them there)

Ah... it just came to me - Leanna Heart? I think that's right.

I saw some of the Dateline show. That girl isn't even hot, so it wasn't worth watching.

It's called FAMILY BUSINESS. The series is going to be ten 30-minute episodes. It premieres February 22nd at 11PM on Showtime. There's more info at the Showtime website:

The show was called "Primetime" with Diane Sawyer

You right about the girl she wasn"t anything to drool over..That big tatoo on her chest was hedious..
