I thought it was by far the worst Buffy episode ever. (My wife hated it even more than I did, interestingly enough...)

There were some pretty funny moments, and when the scenes didn't involve RJ and his jacket it wasn't too bad, but this was such an uneven episode that it was very hard to watch. The use of music was HORRIBLE in this episode, as the mood evoked was totally inappropriate for a Buffy episode. It became a bad 70's sitcom all of a sudden when they inserted those songs. The episode would go from a solid Buffy episode to a really bad 70's sitcom (or, more like a REALLY bad Fox sitcom from the 80's).

Some of it was just painful to watch. Some of it was hilarious, but overall it was so uneven, and the bad parts so bad that I almost turned it off.

I think that the writers were just trying too hard to be clever. It just didn't work. It was even worse (for me) than ST:TNG's "Masks." THAT was a horrible episode, but it was better than this one, IMO...

And I liked most of the episodes last year, so it's not like I'm overly harsh on Buffy as a series. Hell, I liked the Doublemeat palace episode last year a lot more than this one, and that one was kind of lame...

I watched the episode once more yesterday, and I was in a more forgiving mood, and it was tolerable, but it wasn't a great episode by any stretch of the imagination.

Nope, it wasn't.

Then who was it? Sure looked and sounded like him to me.
Just currious.

Just looked it up. The part of Lance/Brother was played by Brandon Keener. I would have sworn it was Enrico Colantoni from "Just shoot me".
Oh well.
