John Doe 10/25
Well, as good as I thought last week's episode was, this one was awful, IMO. Was it just me, or did absolutely everything seem forced tonight? And the acting was terrible. I mean, the guy who plays Doe has thus far not been great in the acting category anyway, but tonight he seemed to just go way over the top, from that silly opening sequence in the hospital to all the rapid eye flickering at the computer. And they obviously don't know what to do with the increasingly annoying "assistant." Her role seems to be twofold: act concerned and act incredulous. That's about the range.
I sure hope next week is better.

Boy was that one scene a rip-off of The Vanishing or what?
"If you want to learn what happened to your friend, you must experience what he did......."
I was yelling "No! I've seen this movie! Don't do it!"
And the whole stealing organs thing was straight out of Coma.
Why was John Doe so convinced that French doctor dude knew anything about him? Even at the end, he still seemed to think it was about something more than his organs.

Well, since I didn't watch the entirety of last week's episode, I can't really compare this one to that one.
This episode seemed like a stand-alone episode that didn't do much to further the arc of the storyline. The only thing was that JD and Lt. Avery seemed to make a slightly deeper connection than before.
Why doesn't JD go search Horseshoe Island for some clues? Or has he done that already? That would seem like a logical step in finding out about his past.

This show is now getting annoying. He's supposed to know everything. So how come he doesn't have phone book information memorized? He had to check up where that fat blind man lived. On top of that, he not only knows "everything", he can do complicated math equations in his head faster than Dustin Hoffman's character could count dropped toothpicks in Rain Man.
If they're gonna have us believe a certain premise, they need to stay consistent and set certain boundaries.

I'm still confused by all the 'revealations.' It seems like every episode they gear you up with some 'clue' and it leads exactly nowhere.
And why is it so easy to just pick up a white coat in a hospital? And what was up with that sequence in the kitchen with Jeopardy etc. - it seemed to serve no purpose.
I don't think I'll be watching too much longer...

What's happened to all the people who have been singing the praises of this show over the last several weeks? They sure have become awful quiet. Doesn't bode well.

I think this show started out strong, but the last two eps have just been so-so.
I think we're at the point in the fall season where the cream of the crop starts rising and you start dropping the marginal shows.
I'm still watching but next week better get better.

I still love the show. I am/was a HUGE X-Files fan and John Doe seems to be using the "who kidnapped my sister?" Formula of X-Files.
*shrug* I dig it, and will be pissed if Fox cancels it.

I still love the show, but its hard to pop into the weekly threads when the show airs on Friday night....I watch it on tape delay several days later.
The kitched scene made perfect sense. In a controlled calm environment Doe know everything, but when he starts multi-tasking to the point of sensory overload, he's not able to pull the information anymore.

I'm still a fan of the show, even though last weeks episode sucked balls. I agree with Jadzia that the whole stolen organ thing was a bad idea, and didn't go anywhere.
I would have liked to seen the mysterious character make John Doe jump through hoops for little tidbits of information. Kinda like Deep Throat. I don't like the assistant getting freaked out about every little thing, cause it's getting a bit annoying.
I hope next weeks episode gets back on track.
