These threads are like Christmas advertisements. First they started just after thanksgiving, then before thanksgiving, now I'm seeing displays before Halloween.
Pretty soon, we'll have an official thread for every episode the moment the show's first announced.

Was it just me, or was I the only person watching who thought they heard Clark call Lex "Mike" when he was asking him for the keys to the Ferrari? I mean the guy that plays Lex is named "Mike," but for the editing team to leave that in is kinda weird.
This is the first episode I have seen this year* and it was really cool until...
* I lost interest after the first seven episodes last season. There was too much to watch so something had to give.

I think this was actually his first scripted episode.
I know it's not in the budget, but if Clark's inhibitions were gone he wouldn't toss around a football on a x-box, he would toss around trees and learn to juggle cars, etc.

was nobody else surprised at how big a leap the show took tonight?? (in terms of the clark/lana relationship) clark revealed a LOT about himself to lana and then acted VERY badly. he can't take it back and the trust between him and lana is forever broken. their relationship will never have the closeness it had before. you can already see it at the end. lana will never trust him again. and quite frankly i can't understand how he could let pete in on his secret (although it wasn't by choice) and NOT tell lana.

Clark: "Lana, I can't tell you about _______."
Lana: "Friends don't keep secrets, Clark."
And it was just to a greater extreme tonight.
On the TWoP forums and recaps, they keep on talking about the homosexual subtext between characters on Smallville. And man, tonight, the HoYay! was over the top. Clark & Lex running away with each other to the city, to escape the town that was too small for them, that didn't understand them? Sheesh.
There was one scene in which Chloe and Lana were talking about Lana's "date," and it was so awkwardly shot... they had zoomed in so close, and Lana kept moving... and so for Chloe not to be left out of the shot, she had to keep moving awkwardly close to Lana every time Lana moved. Made it seem like Chloe was a "close talker." Or more HoYay!, depending on how you wanted to interpret it.

I thought this episode was hilarious. I at a lot of Clark's comments that he made, especially the ones to Lana.
Paraphrasing:
"Don't worry Lana, I havn't taken my eyes off you all day."
"I'll save the return ride for you."
Pete's reactions to Clark's lines were pretty hilarious too.
The ending where Jonathan smashed Clark's ring was lame, though.
I expected them to have Clark explain his weird actions to everybody (namely Lex, Lana, and Chloe), but I guess not.
I don't think Clark's actions have totally screwed up his and Lana's relationship (though it's certainly been set back). Sure, he hurt her, but it's not like they were boyfriend-girlfriend anyway. If Clark can ever explain what the hell caused his personality to change so radically (like telling her he was coked up or something ), maybe Lana would be more forgiving as well. We're only in the 2nd season, so Clark and Lana's relationship can't be totally screwed up forever this early in the show.
I also like how Lana and Chloe are getting to be buds and are opening up to each other (sort of) about how they feel about Clark. If Clark plays his cards right, he might be able to get them to have a menage a trois.
Question regarding next week's preview:

I thought last night's episode was good fun. There are many LOL lines by Clark, and also by Pete's reaction to them. You could tell that Tom Welling had a good time with the Bad Boy Clark persona.
This episode did allow the writers to create some emotional distance between Clark and Lana - but with repercussions for Clark's relationship with Lana (otherwise, the writers had nowhere else to go unless they move one of out of the way artificially, the same way they might write Chloe out). The minor plus side for Clark is that he did get to kiss Lana by his choice (though I'm not sure he remembered much of it after the ring/redrock was shattered by Pa Kent.
Lionel Luthor might figure out what happened (he did have the 3 bullets that Clark shot into his hand). Have to love the way Clark used Lionel's blindness as a shield for not exposing his super powers while being in front of him. Of course, if any non-regular character finds out Clark's super powers, you can bank on that character dying by the end of the episode/arc.
Good to see Lex grow a spine towards Lionel as a result of Clark's new/temporary brazen attitude.
For those that didn't know, this episode's writer, Jeff Loebs, is a comic book writer who's done work on the Superman comics, so he was well suited to write an episode around the 1st appearance of red kryptonite. I think Loebs did a fine job for his first crack at a Smallville script.
This show just keeps getting more and more entertaining week by week.

Ah! Thanks for that note about Jeff Loebs. That was nice to know.
It was a pretty good episode. I'm wondering now how Mr. Kent's gonna get himself out of his Lana predicament.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: That much hotness would get me to reveal my powers to anyone. Anyone.
