CSI: Miami 10/7

Decent episode last night, but for some reason this spin-off doesn't hold up to the original, IMO. I'm thinking it's the cast...maybe I just need some time to warm up to them, so to speak. I enjoyed the previous week's mad bomber episode though...

Not as good as the original, but I still like it.

It's way more graphic than the original. Last night's episode featured a part of a human torso. It wasn't really graphic, but it was somewhat cool to see.

Pretty much the same mindless fluff as the original (that's not an insult, just what it is). I think this one interests me slightly more because of Procter and Delaney, whereas the original has more familiarity from being on the air a few seasons. There are some superficial differences, but other than that, it's essentially the same show.

Kim Delaney has to go back to the hair style she had during the 1st-half season of Philly. She was so hot.

At least they make up for it by letting her wear those tight tops instead of the "convervative lawyer suit" from Philly.

Yeah, but as a CSI, she won't be able to show off a lot of leg.

Edit: you beat me to the punch, Red Dog. So let me add something:

How come this show never has a "B Story"?

I think it gets boring just focusing on one case throughout the entire episode.

I like how the first CSI usually has two teams working on two separate cases.

Good question...I've wondered the same thing.

Actually, I have a similar "complaint" which covers noth CSI shows -- why can't we have more cases that don't involve murder and death? Not that I'm feeling morbid about it, but let's mix it up a little. Sometimes the "B" story should be something else like a home invasion, carjacking, casino robbery, etc.

Like that one in season one involving those Johns getting robbed -- it turned out the prostitute was putting a drug on her boobs.

I agree, like that CSI one where they investigated the stolen paintings that turned out to be a forgery ring.

I think the CSI:Miami show so far has used too many over-the-top events: plane crashes, bombs, etc,

It would be nice if they mixed it up with lighter fare.

3 episodes in and I am not hooked at all. I agree, too over the top, and I really don't care about any of the cast. The blonde(sorry don't know her name) is not even that good looking and her acting skills seem a little sketchy to me.

I be sticking with Vegas baby

Well, both shows are so far off from any type of reality, it's the sensationalism that sells.

We all know that most homicides take place surrounding domestic disputes. Not very interesting eh?

But you're right. This is CSI, not the "Homicide Squad", and every episode seeems to involve some grisly murder of some sort. Murders are by far the minority of crimes.

Blasphemy! Emily Procter is a total hottie!
As if acting talent was important.

(warning -- don't let Das catch you putting her down, or you're in big trouble)

I agree - I'm a big fan. I love her southern accent as well.

Definitely check her out in the movie Breast Men.

I didn't think the rubbery-looking human torso was nearly as graphic as the "face peeling" on the recent episode of "CSI"!

Besides Caruso, nobody on this show really grabs me. I don't care for either of the women! I've always disliked Kim Delaney, and she has a heightened agitation on this show which really annoys me.

Actually, I can think of something else that was more graphic -- last week's episode of John Doe, with the severed torsos, then the two pieces put back together. Man, that was gross.

How about the demon peeling pieces of Willow's stomach off and eating it on Buffy? That was pretty graphic, and not to mention unexpected...
