Sports Night laugh tracks???
Ok...so it's really late and i'm going to bed momentarily - but I had comedy central on and Sports Night started and next thing I know i'm hearing laugh tracks????? I watched this fairly regularly in its brief run and specifically remember enjoying the lack of such imbecilic additions. So I guess my question is what the hell is up with that??? Isn't there an impending dvd release? Will that have the laugh tracks?
In short, I find it an abomination and am truly saddened by it....it sounds like the fricking Brady Bunch for cryin out loud!!!?!?!

If my memory is correct, they removed the laugh tracks in the middle of the first season.

Now if I recall correctly from back at the Fall Launch can't remember which one (I just know our network bought Sports Night and Felicity that year) The pilot did not have a laugh track.

I don't remember how many eps had it, but I'm pretty sure the DVDs will have them. I guess the cost of remixing the audio was too high for their projected returns. I can kinda see their point. The show was smart and well written, who the hell wants to see that?

See, the thing is, Sports Night was NEVER "ha-ha-ha" funny. It was droll and witty. But I didn't really tune in religiously for the so-called comedy. I watched because the characters were so well developed, each with his/her own troubles and flaws. I also loved the continuing storylines.
I still get a kick out of Dan Rydel's utter hatred for football ( soccer ).
And any show that puts William H. Macy on the screen is aces in my book!
