Sattelite: DirecTV or Dish?

i love dish. i have their PVR receiver, so it works like a digital vcr, 30 hours perfect quality. i use to have a tivo also, but got rid of it when they got rid of the 800#. i have the top 150 package, superstations, locals, and hbo. i havent had any problems with them and their CS has been nicer to me than DirecTV was (I had Directv before I switched to Dish). i also use to get distant nets from dish also from new york and la, but they finally took them away a few months back.

If I had gotten approval for ABC, I could wrap them all 4 major networks together and just pay $5.99/month. I get charged an extra $1 now for $7/month on my distant network stations, but that's ok cause I couldn't get them otherwise. It kinda sucks not living in the top 33 TV markets because our locals here are not available through the dish and the TV Gods must expect you to have perfect clarity on over-the-air signals or access to cable tv to receive the big networks. I wouldn't mind if Dish Network merged with DirectTV so the smaller cities could have their locals on the dish too. At the same time, I'm sure I would loose the ability to watch TV from New York and Los Angeles.
**edit**: Ok, I know people here have said they get UPN, but I don't see it listed as an available channel. I checked DisnNet's website, and didnt see it listed there either. Is it listed under something besides UPN?
Once you plug in your address, it will tell you that you qualify for the superstations package.
**edit 2**: Also, I'm in Alaska, and have heard that I need a 3 foot dish instead of an 18" dish. Will places that offer the DirecTivo sets offer a 3" dish that will work with dual tuners?
