new designer on Trading Spaces
I think Ty called it when he said that the bed looked like something out of a Vegas hotel room, I actually thought the whole room looked sort of 80's Vegas.
I reserve judgement until I see maybe another couple of episodes with him.
What really surprised me was that the couple looooved what he did.

I was wondering about that this past saturday.
I thought they got rid of a designer or two to make way for Kia and Edward. But from the TLC site, it looks like they just added 2 designers.
I wonder if the designers felt too worked and the show decided that 2 more designers would help spread out their work some so they get a little bit of a rest.
Though they could be taking the spot of Laurie for a while while she is recovering from having a baby.

Replacing Laurie during her pregnancy (and first few months with the baby) is understandable. But I'll be seriously pissed if they added that cheese-meister "Edward" for my beloved Hilde.
So she tried spraypainting a couch pink?
So she glued hay to a nursery (well, semi-nursery) wall?
So she transformed an entire room into a harlequin clown side-show tent?
The girl has a knack for drama. And what would Trading Spaces be without a little drama?
Okay - so I've only seen one episode with this Edward person so it's not fair to judge his whole oeuvre from one bad room. But c'mon - people!! 6 foot high ferns, underlighting for a bed and a friggin' faux-zebra rug? The man has no class. Zero. Zilch. Nada. That room was positively pimpadelic. Blech!

From the TS website:
Philadelphia native Kia Steave-Dickerson has had an interest in design since she was a child. Working alongside her father at the local community theater, Kia learned the ins and outs of set design....

It was like watching a train wreck -- I kept waiting for something to happen so the hay would make sense. I'm still waiting.

FYI, I guess Edward used to be the sewing coordinator on the show, and got "promoted."
Wasn't a huge fan of the room, but I think he pleased the clients, so there can't be a lot fo complain about.
And the lights under the bed were cool
