well the first time they all sang was kinda ok, but the first 5 minutes of the motown show was horrendeous.. It sounded a lot like the guy at the mixing console was messing up bigtime.
Notice how they have reverb, compression and some chorus on their voices today - more polished sound - at least at first. this last round was pretty bad.
and that will guy doesnt really come off very well.

Has it always been the "Ford and Coca-Cola present American Idol" show?
I watched the first week and then last week and this week.. The sheer number of coke and ford commercials is mind numbing.

Hmm.. interesting... all 3 pick Kelly.
Somehow I think that Justin will win, unfortuently... America always seems to pick an underdog...
Though I hope it is Kelly...

I had an 8 o'clock softball game which went over the hour limit, and got home just in time to see Justin lose by a 58%-42% vote. Seacrest was damn cruel to put that pregnant pause right before he announced that Kelly won.
From the sound of it, I didn't miss much in the first 100 minutes of the 2 hour show.
I'm happy that Kelly won. It was a bit too much to expect the winner to be able to perform after winning the title of American Idol, but even so, Kelly's emotions still got me all tingly. Way to go, girl!

All of those cheesy group numbers made me think I was watching The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. They were horrible.
The Fox news started in Dallas about 10 minutes ago, and they are still talking about Kelly. Apparently there was no real news today (or if there was, Fox is just ignoring it.)

That vote was way too close for my liking! Virtually every other poll in the US had Kelly ahead at least 70-30. I like the other song "Before Your Love" for a single, but I guess the other one is more like a theme to AI.
Way to go Kelly! Justice has been served!

Boo!
Following the lead of the classy Justin: "Conrats to Kelly!"
42% for Justin? More than I would have thought...
Anyway, Kelly should go country....she can take on Faith Hill better than Mariah....plus, she's from Texas.
Justin - see you on the sitcom circuit a year from now!

Now that's just too weird. I too was at a softball game (yes, I went 4-4, with a walk, 5 RBIs, and 5 Runs ) and had to watch on my trusty TiVo.
I actually enjoyed most of the show. It was fun remembering some of those horrid auditions and some of those great moments that had us all talking about this show in the first few weeks before America had figured out what was happening. Like I said in last night's thread, you could tell they knew in their hearts what was going to happen throughout the whole show. Justin was completely relaxed because he knew he'd lost, and Kelly was a nervous wreck, leaning on Justin to get her through the show.
Some thoughts ...
God, I hate those stupid songs. How much worthless Diane Warren mush can America take before fighting back?
Paula ... nice outfit
It's Tamika!!!
Did anyone see Debra Wilson completely lose it? She was convulsing over there when they announced the winner.
Great to hear Tamyra's voice again. God, that girl can sing. I won't buy that Diane Warren dreck, but I might pick up a Tamyra CD.
Was it just me, or were they trying to avoid Nikki as much as possible?
They seemed to give R.J. a pretty big push. I've always thought he had a very nice voice (just didn't perform well in the competition). Is there a chance they want to sign him as well?
I'm a sucker for raw emotion, and it was great to see Kelly's dreams come true. Now if she could find a way to sing some real music instead of that trash she sang tonight, she may be a real superstar and not a flash in the pan.

Well, I hate RJ's voice, so here's hoping I don't hear it on the radio too soon.
I only went 1-2, a walk, 2 runs, 2 RBI, and gave up 16 runs (estimated 12 were unearned) and we still won the game 17-16 in the bottom of the 5th inning by pushing across 5 runs!

Thank God...Kelly won. I heard the winner puts out a single next month and a full record in November! Isn't that kind of soon? It takes some artists years (look at Korn) to put out an album, but in 2 months and her first 2 months of being a "real" artist to put one out? I imagine that everything will be spoon-fed to her (writing and everything else). But maybe she will do some writing. Who knows? It could be pretty good. But if her career fails, there is always Playboy
