Why is TNN suddenly showing Top Gun uncut?

TNN is currently showing Top Gun uncut, WITHOUT the picture distorting black bar, and with only a small transparent logo in the corner. What are they trying to accomplish here, besides demonstrating how absolutely godawful their typical presentations are?

I think a better question would be...what's the big deal about showing Top Gun "uncut"? I could see if it was Showgirls...but Top Gun?

Uncut? I assume you mean unbleeped or not dubbed?

I wouldn't know if there's been a discussion about this, but for me, I consider uncut as unmessed with. Are they letting the "S" word thru?

Natch, they aren't showing it OAR, 'cause them damn_black bars would be a bother to their hick viewers, n'est pas?

Too bad. Them bumpkins don't realize how much ad space there is at the top and bottom of a widescreen flick.

Why are they showing Top Gun? It makes a helluva lot more sense than freaking "Star Trek."

My guess is that they've ruined their copy of the Godfather so they can't show that any more.

What are guys talking about TNN ruining shows? WWE Raw is fine to me...but then again that's the only reason I tune to TNN.

That's what I hear. My understanding is that they only use the bars for shows that really don't belong on that net, like Star Trek and (I assume) CSI. Maybe they think that, 'cause we (non-rasslin' fans) like them widescreen thyngs, we should feel right at home?

I doubt you'll see them on anything with Pamela Anderson, either.

It's not uncut...1/3 from each side of the picture is missing.
