American Idol - 9/03/02

I hate to create yet another thread, but there's a POLL thread, a thread for last week's ep and a thread wondering why people care about the show. Not too sure where we should have this week's discussion without a new thread.

Anyway ... I'm thrilled to see them using newly written songs!!

das

P.S. Thrilled means "I want to puke" right?

Justin off to a bad start. Pretty weak and not that exciting.

Damn I was really hoping they would have a band on stage for the final show.

didn't like Justin's version.
His voice seemed a bit "raspy" tonight.
Don't know if sounded the same in the theater, or if it was the mic.

Kelly sounds MUCH better I think.

Frankly, I thought they both kinda sucked. It doesn't help that the songs were stupid.

wish the judges were commenting.
Would like to hear Simon on Justin's 1st performance.

Although the last few weeks they have been carefull not to slam anyone, as to not hurt "THE TOUR"!

I thought kelly was great - and justin still bores me to tears even when he is decent l.

The first song was hard because its an original - not a cover.. It'll be a video for sure, its very professionally written.. wait and see..

I wasn't expecting much from the original songs, but good god. Talk about your silly tripe. I'd say Kelly was better, but "eh"...big time "eh".

Her voice just sounds very weak tonight. Still much better than Sideshow, though.

You notice both kinda sound weird? Though it was my TV on the PC but went down stairs on the system and it still sounded thin and a little distorted. Bad mix.

Wasn't her best (I posted before she actually started singing). Also note that they only got a coupla minutes for real music and full time to sing that "original" trash.

Fatal Attraction set against the backdrop of competitive high school swimming??? I'd rather have heard RJ sing a few than to watch that little tidbit.

The music is definitely drowning out the vocals for starters.

If only we could drop some of these songs into his proverbial locker.
