CBS/USA Showing Old US Open Tennis, why and who cares?

Watching Pacino on USA yesterday (Carlito's Way) and before the final climatic last twenty or so USA cuts in and shows last year's old quarterfinals. Ticks me off. I could understand airing a Anna match but this is retarded. CBS is doing the same thing today.

Tennis is boring as it is. Someone tell me why CBS/USA show old matches. I would rather watch the rain come down than old played out matches that were of no significance. Now I have to rent Carlito's Way and see it again.

Actually, I'd rather watch Jimmy Connors play than Anna Overrated... yeah, she's pretty, but if I wanted to watch crappy tennis, I'd go outside and play. Although I'd be upset and very perplexed if they cut off the end of a movie just to show an old tennis match.

Rain delay.

Quite simple, actually, no need to get upset.

they should keep showing jimmy connors' matches from 1991. how much fun was it watching a 39 year old man beat kids half his age?

I enjoyed watching this as well. As I didn't catch it the first time around I thought it was quite exciting.

i remember that run quite vividly. i was in high school and i remember being glued to the tv for that week to see what connors would do next. the point where her got 2 or 3 smashes in a row back and still won the point is absolutely classic.
