Anyone still watching USA's The Dead Zone?

I am still taping/watching The Dead Zone on USA (Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith), and have actually enjoyed most of the episodes this season. Anyone else?

The redheaded news reporter is stunning.

Yep, I'm still watching. Though I haven't gotten around to this past weekend's show yet.

I've been thoroughly enjoying AMH's performances (he's the best part of the show by far, imo). I love when he becomes other characters so easily, from their voice down to their mannerisms. I never realized just how talented (or chameleon-like) he is.

I'm still watching although I feel the past couple eps have been sub-par. Still, I enjoy it a lot more than most summer television Next week's ep does look like it'll be very good. I agree with WarriorPrincess about how chameleon-like AMH can be on this show. I have been completely impressed with his acting ability.

I am still watching as well. I have the current ep on Replay and hope to watch it tonight.

I thin AMH is doing an amazing job and is much better than I thought he would be. The show has lots of potential.

Yep. It's strangely enjoyable. While I don't think the episodes have been spectacular, they've done a great job side-stepping some tired television formulas. It seems like each episode I think "ugh, I hope they don't do this," and surprisingly they don't. Once you suspend a little disbelief of Johnny finding life-and-death trouble each week, it's a pretty darn good show.

I've been watching it, and it's been pretty entertaining. Normally, because of it's time slot I wouldn't usually watch it.

But Thanks to Replay I can watch lots of shows I wouldn't usually watch.

I'm still watching, although I don't know why. The show isn't very good. Monk, on the other hand, is fantastic!

I really enjoy the Dead Zone, although some of their episodes have been hit and miss. I thought Sunday's ep was great, and am eagerly anticipating next week's!

BTW, the gorgeous redhead's name is Kristen Dalton, who also played Tina Louise/Ginger in the Gilligan's Island cast film.

I love the show. If I miss Sunday night TNT I catch up when it appears on sci fi Fridays, which lags behind a show or two. The 'Witch Hunt' was great. I was really angry with his friend for not getting his body language, damn, you would think he would have learned by then to judge John's mood. The vibs were happening as soon as they got in the diner.

I've become increasingly bored with this show. I was surprised I enjoyed the overused 12 angry men plot, but then the dog day afternoon episode last week I was surprisingly bored. I usually enjoy those type of stories. Has anybody seen Pups? It was a hidden gem I discovered late night on HBO.

I loved how Johnny's stiffy seemed to cure his limp while walking to and up the stairs.

Just had to say that I enjoyed the 8/25/02 episode with Johnny and Dana having a "non-date" date. Mmmm...Dana...

Well, the stiffy acted as his 3rd leg, just like his cane.

Started watching a few weeks ago. And last night I finally got to see the first episode. It helps clear a few things up, and now I think I like the show even more.

In case anyone is interested... from horrordvds.com:

Fans of The Dead Zone TV show will be excited by this news. On November 5, 2002, Lions Gate will be releasingthe series pilot (Ep. 1&2) onto DVD. Better yet, in March 2003 all of Season One will be released onto DVD. On the pilot DVD expect Jonny Smith's video diary, commentaries, and more!

Will this pilot DVD with extras also be in the Season One set? I'm checking into that and will be post an update when I found out.

Not sure I like it enough to buy DVDs, but I applaud the effort.

I lost interest after about 3 episodes. The writing wasnt as strong as the first episode and the whole powers thing is getting a bit old.

So, did anyone watch the season finale last night? I must admit that I always wanted to watch this show, but never did because I always taped the "The Wire." Thank goodness for the marathon yesterday because now I'm hooked!

One thing I didn't like:
Spoiler:

-Sarah's having morning sickness the day after sleeping with Johnny? That's a little unbelievable...unless she's really pregnant with Walt's kid.

Spoiler:

I don't think it was morning sickness, I think she was overcome physically by guilt for what she had done. If you listen to it, she's sobbing more than tossing her cookies.

Also, I don't believe there is a new episode next week, this was a season finale cliffhanger. Anyone know when the 2nd season starts up again?

mrglass:

Spoiler:
That wasn't meant to be morning sickness...she was sick with guilt.

Well, with the season finale they have finally tied the series back up with the novel. For those who didn't already know:

Spoiler:
Greg Stillson, the candidate, was the character played by Martin Sheen in the film version.

renaldow, Groucho:
Spoiler:

Sarah's guilt as the reason for being sick entered my mind, too, but my soap opera viewing mentality took over, and I just assumed she was pregnant. Glad to see I'm wrong!

Filming for the next season starts next week and will air in early 2003.
