Six Feet Under
Why no thread discussing SFU? Well, here is one then...
I've been watching the reruns of the first season, as I had not seen it yet. Wow this show is great! The episode that was just on, David went to the gay club with Kurt (I believe, square dance instructor), and saw Keith there. Obviously he misses him, all that. Brenda and Nate were "testing" other funeral homes. Interesting. And the Mom had Ecstasy (that was funny).
Let's start a nice discussion on the show. I think one area that things might go is the Mom will "sample" some Russian appetizers... and David and Keith will try to get back together.
And please, only discuss episodes as they pass each week. Some people, such as myself, are just beginning to enjoy this show. Thanks everyone.

I've seen both seasons already, but watched a bit of last night's episode. I wish I was in your shoes...seeing this show for the very first time.

There were lots of threads when the 2nd season was on in new shows earlier this year. I was bummed to see they didn't continue when the 1st season reruns began... I'm one who got turned on in season 2 and am now enjoying Season 1 "like it was the first time." In fact I'm hard pressed to decide whether season 1 or 2 is the better. Fantastic show! Only occasionally am I getting vertigo from going "back in time" (like I keep forgetting David hasn't "come out" to his mom yet although by season 2 he had).

Oh yeah, I believe there was a thread in the main forum a while back saying Season 1 would come to DVD in early 2003.... Search around for it, I'm sure it's still there somewhere

Let me join the group in saying I'm watching it for the first time now too. Last night's episode was great! Shows like this really help me justify the $12 I pay for HBO each month. I'm glad they decided to replay it from the beginning. Now only six weeks or so until I can get my Sopranos fix too! Yay HBO!

I'm sure there are quite a few of us out there who have never seen the show. Not everyone can have the luxury of premium channels...

Hands down, best show on television. And I say this as a fan of The Sopranos. HBO's original series are about the only shows I watch. I saw all of the first and second seasons of SFU when they originally aired, yet I still watch the reruns now. It's just that good.
As for a DVD release, the last rumor I had heard was that Season 1 would be out for the holidays.
Between SFU and American Beauty, I will now go see anything Alan Ball writes/creates without knowing the slightest bit about them.

The second season starts on Monday 9th September here in the UK. Only thing I'm slightly annoyed by is that if the DVD's get released they won't be in widescreen. The OAR seems to be 4:3.

I'm gonna turn on my brother in law and mom (don't go there) to the show. Not sure wether to start with the second season (as I did) or do the finale of 1st season. I haven't seen the first season- will the first season finale affect the begining of the second season, or will it improve it?
thanks!
thanks!
