New He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon trailer!

Check this out:

http://www.he-man.org/news_images/motu_trailer.rm

The 90-minute premiere will be on August 16th at 4:00pm EST on Cartoon Network. Is this cool, or what?

Skeletor sounds like a Nancy-boy.

No She-Ra? The clip looks ok to me! Skeletor talks like hes been kicked in the nuts.

Close.. but it was an unfortunate incident involving Trap Jaw trying to please Skeletor orally

Which would have turned out okay, but then Ram-Man decided to join in the fun.

BTW, the trailer looks pretty cool. Let's hope they don't Pokemon it up too badly, like the recent Transformers fiasco.

Yeah, I was so excited when I saw this on my local station. I watched about 10 minutes of it and was so disgusted that I turned it off. What a terrible remake.

And I guess I'm too stuck in my ways...I didn't like the trailer at all. I liked the fact that the old He-Man wasn't so nimble (as was demonstrated by the new one backflipping everywhere). Just a big guy with a sword and the power of greyskull to use it

I for one will support this new cartoon until the end. Anything to help ensure that the original MOTU is released on DVD, and soon.

I downloaded the trailer about 2 minutes after they posted it on the site.

Skeletor's voice may sound weird to you, but to a He-Man fan it sounds very much like what Alan Oppenhiemer did with it in the original Filmation cartoon. Same with the Sorceress and He-Man.

Thumps up on the trailer.

No Orko in the trailer, but he may be in the episodes when the series starts. He is getting a toy. He is in the third wave of figures I believe. As for She-Ra, I hope they bring her into the Masters of the Universe line and cartoon. And the Horde.

Do you mean the movie with Dolph Lundgren? Cuz if you do, it's been out for quite a while now.

The animation is a 100% improvement over the old stiffly drawn show. I forget the compnay that produced the '80's show but I always thought their animation SUCKED!

I also like the new He-man haircut better than the old fruitcake cut He-man had .

Old hairdo

Filmation is the animation company that did the original He-Man and She-Ra cartoons. I don't think the new cartoon will be better than the original, since I grew up with the original, it will always be better in my book. But you never know. I do like the new look, and the fact that the voice actors they got are basically sounding like the voices from the Filmation cartoon.

By "original MOTU," I believe he was referring to the original animated series, which is not available on DVD yet.

I was just happy that they seemed to keep the costumes pretty much the same. I was afraid they would update them or mess them up too much. I'm still amazed this will be on Cartoon Network! They have had such a negative stance on He-Man since the beginning of the channel. They always said that it was nothing more than a 30 minute commercial and would never show it on their channel. They said the same about GI Joe and Transformers and now they are planning on airing GI Joe. I guess things change, but I'm sure it involved money.

Loved this show in my 20's. I'm sure I will watch the 90 minute movie with my 7 year old son. Great having boys, I get to relive my youth.

The thing that always made me kinda cringe was when someone would jump down from something, and the animation would show a close-up of the person's legs - they would always land completely straight-legged. Ouch!

Looks a little bit darker than the original one. I am actually more for such an approach as the old one tended to wuss out in areas concerning fighting and tried to give a moral lesson at the end.
For those who collected the toys from the first year, you would recall that the little story books included were a little more mature than the cartoon ever hoped, and they also never id the Prince Adam as He-Man crap/ The first He-Man line had more of a Conan the Barbarian vibe to it with He-Man beating up bad guys and sleeping with Teela. (Okay, not in the books, but they always rode off on Battlecat together, what do you think they were going to do?)
