Spoiler:
now that buffy is dead
I wonder how UPN is gonna pick up the show. BTW any one else think that
Spoiler:
glory got beaten a little too easily? I mean she really did't even fight that much, neither did she even use her powers. And howcome noone had the bright idea of using the that hammer or ORB before?
But perhaps i'm being a little too critical about it, personally I liked it. i give it 8/10 on emotional level.

i am almost sure they will have her vamped which will really screw up the show IMHO. they will probably get her unvamped though (i.e. Darla).

I was thinking that too.. but to have her vamped, she would have to be alive to be drained to the point of death, then fed blood from the vamp (most likely candidate, Spike).
Seeing as she is dead and buried, I don't think they would have her a Vamp.
But, I could be wrong.
I didn't think they'd kill her off again this season.

Maybe next season ANGEL will have to decide to bring Buffy back to life and make her a vamp..... or let her remain dead.

The last 10 seconds of Angel's season finale was a crossover.

The problem is, Angel is now on a different network from Buffy. When I saw the ending to Angel I was like WTF, that cliffhanger is going NOWHERE!

I liked that Physics girl though, hope she becomes a regular on the cast.

Man, I was totally fooled again by Whedon & Co.! I heard that someone was gonna die, but I never in a million years that it was gonna be
Spoiler:
Buffy

Obviously, she'll be back next season somehow, and I have faith that it'll be at least somewhat plausible. Only a show like Buffy would celebrate its 100th episode by

I'm late to the Buffy/Angel fandom, can anyone recommend a good site with really good episode breakdowns and such?

tks

And this episode almost pushed me over the edge, and that takes quite a bit. Only other time was when Billy died on Ally McBeal. (Now that I've admitted that, I'm sure the tauntings will come fast and furious)

God! That ep was so emotional!

There won't be a new slayer unless Faith dies. Remember? Buffy isn't the official slayer, because when she died before they called in a new slayer (Kendra) who soon died and was replaced by Faith.

I can't believe Buffy has died twice! Not many shows can say they've killed their main character twice!

She had better come back though, or I will be realy pissed!

When is the season premiere around?

While I was an avid Buffy fan last year, I was only moderate this year. MY only gripe about
Spoiler:
Buffy dying
is that bringing her back would really seem kind of rendundant, especially since this scenario has been attempted before. I thought the one to bite it would be Anya or Spike, since the emotional levels of each character were raised quite a bit. Furthermore
Spoiler:
That was kind of a dark turn at the end, not only with Buffy's death but with Giles' sudden change of character. He's still good, but it's not what you're used to from him.
BTW, loved Spike's emotion at the end!
The only thing they can do next season is 1)keep tempting us with a return of the deceased, only to save the actual appearances for sweeps period. 2) Have most of next season be a bunch of "untold adventures", all of which occur in flashback. (I hope this isn't it! 3) Have a spirit come in to aid the new slayer (Star Wars style), with about five minutes total each episode to satisfy contractual agreements. Overall, I foresee an X-Files scenario in which former main characters are in and out to make way for underdeveloped new characters to take shape. In closing,
Spoiler:
R.I.P. Buffy Summers, and may you truly do so this time.
Hey, she's got the real Scooby gang to deal with now! This will make her have second thoughts for sure!

I thought the season finale was alright...kinda lame, though...especially how easily Glory died and how Buffy just pushed the guy that was slicing up Dawn off the ledge...it'll be interesting to see how they bring Buffy back...

I'd like to see Eliza Dushku reprise her role as Faith.

I'll second that I think a rematch between these two is something they will save for either a series finale, or possibly a feature film.

The how easily Glory died thing didn't really bother me because all during her time on the series they were showing signs of her weakening over time, and needing to "eat minds" not only to remain sane, but to even remain active. The barrier between Glory and Ben weakening was introduced late, but it did provide additional signs that there was an "out" for the situation. As for how easily "slicing guy" was defeted was classic. I love the funny "casual defeat of a self-sure enemy" bits. A favorite similar one is the one where Spike ominously appears, gives a monologue on his new plan to crush the Slayer once and for all, and is suddenly shocked and dragged away by Riley's guys.

As for the question on episode info, try http://www.buffyguide.com.

Personally, I think Buffy will be back next season, and they will not be another slayer, because she isn't dead, because if anybody else would be slayer, the show wouldn't be called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". I looked in "Daily Variety" and saw that on UPN's roster, it does say "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". So I just can't wait 'till next season and see how Josh'll pull it off.

Didn't you guys hear all the talk about how Dawn was made from Buffy? It would not be at all out of the realm of possibility to have Buffy cloned from Dawn.

I did think it was a very emotional ending, and I did like the way she took care of "Doc" so easily.

They can't make bringing her back to life too easy, after all, since it's the second time they've done it. For better or worse, this death has to at least seem more permanent than the last fatal cliffhanger... That's one of the reasons the whole VampedBuffy scenario makes sense to me as a mini-arc to start next season.

It's easy to believe that Spike, if he got the chance, couldn't resist vamping her to keep her from completely dying... But how would he have gotten the chance, given the whole "everybody looking at the body" footage at the end tonight? Hmmm...

I for one think it would be a much better show if
Spoiler:
SMG
didn't come back for next season. I loved this show but it's been going down hill for the last couple of seasons. It really needs some major changes to shake it up. The move to a new network allows them to kind of have a new beginning. If the rumours about them spinning off
Spoiler:
Gile's
character to a new show then BVS is definitely going to be on it's last legs.

With that said, I'm sure they'll bring
Spoiler:
SMG
back for the next season. It's just really lame that they're repeating the whole
Spoiler:
Buffy dying thing
. It's just characteristic of how the writing on this show has dropped. The whole finale was pretty lame until the last 10 mins. It's kind of like they knew they had to do something big to end the season, they just didn't know how to stretch it into something of substance. Just like they convieniently forgot about that hammer and sphere until the very last minute. And how lucky it was Spike had that slayer robot made so they could use it in the end (not that it was even necessary to the plot. More like it was just thrown in because they had nothing else to do).

Just a wild guess.

If Dawn is part of Buffy then they can use Dawn to create Buffy as well. Like the rebirth of Spick in Star Trek III. That way, they have a whole season to re-introduce Buffy.

With that approach, they can give new material to this reborn Buffy.

Of course, this is all speculation.

For a moment there, I thought Giles was going to be the one to die. When he was kneeling down by Ben, I thought there would be a moment when Glory would come back with a brief surge of power and kill Giles.
Never did I expect Giles to do what he did. But still, it was kind of great that he did it. All the problems that Glory caused for Buffy and her family and Giles took care of the host.
It will be interesting to see what happens next season and how Buffy will make it back onto the show.

Maybe the show will take place in another reality? Did did jump into the portal and perhaps there is a reality that is very similar to the actual one, and in that one, Buffy survived?
Just a thought, and I'm really just rambling, but it was a pretty strong episode.

Damn fine episode ... as to the questions of Buffy's return and the level of difficulty with which they bring her back, I think the headstone is a big indicator there. They didn't have Buffy jump into an abyss and have eevryone crying, leaving everyone wondering what happened and if she was dead...

They showed her die ...
Then they showed her lifeless corpse ...
Then they showed her grave and headstone ...

She's dead. Joss went out of his way to make this abundantly clear. I assume that means he has something grand planned for her return or at least a long process of bringing her back.
