I'm excited. I wanna see this alledged "Superbaby". Maybe it'll come out of the womb benchpressing 210
![]() Can I just say that I would put up with this from no other show? She's been pregnant now for like a zillion years, it's not even a given that the baby is human, and every doctor she goes to is in on the conspiracy. Perhaps she should be birthin' that baby herself! The season finales are always properly dramatic, but my heart really belongs to the episodes that explore a new x-file. To me it's easier to believe in the existance of the occasional genetic freak than mass government cover-ups about alien-human hybriding. And I think if it is more realistic, it is scarier. I've been watching season one on dvd and Eugene Tooms still makes me look around my house to see where he could squeeze in... |

how are you supposed to discuss a show that hasn't aired yet?

This show is indeed out there but I don't think they're nuts enough to give Scully an alien baby or even a alien-human hybrid offspring.
I'm way excited as this has long been my favorite show! ![]() |

Spoiler allert....
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Congrats, It's a Boy! After a very cool episode, Scully gives birth and Mulder joins her while she has the kid in her arms. The Truth is finally here, the baby and something more, all materialized in one of the most sublime and surreal moments on the show: a kiss. A simple kiss of true love and that special connection of Mulder and Scully, something beyond words, indescribable and trully beautiful. . . . . . . . . . . . . Enjoy and discuss!

Woo hoo! I am pleased (except that the specialness of the kid wasn't explained and that there won't be Mulder\Scully next season)!

*SPOILERS**
Perfect episode. End the show right there for me. Perfect ending. Leaves the conspiracy open for movies, but wraps it nice. You see the new face of the Xfiles, Reyes and dogget walkign out of the directors office. You see scully and mulder go to the next phase of theire relationship. And some storylines have enough finality to end it. But no, we'll stretch it out another painful year of man-eating-plant-episodes. Overall i think it was an awesome episode. And a nice ending to the scully's baby storyline. Also, why name the kid william. I mean i know it's mulder's dad's name. But they'll have to call it Billy. HAHAHA. |

While I have spent most of the past three seasons lamenting about the downward slope of the show, I loved tonight's finale.
I guess it's a given that X-Files as we know it with Muldur and Scully is history. While I am anxious to see if Dogget and Reyes work out, I do not see the show lasting another season after next year, if it lasts a whole season. The only reason I don't think they should end the series at this point is sheer curiousity regarding how well the show can stand with two new faces at the wheel. I don't know of many series in the past with a successful torch passing, but perhaps this might be the case!

So none of you guys are upset that Mulder and Scully got together, huh? It's been a long-standing desire among fans that they stay professional, but I guess it was inevitable. I still think it's a shame, though. Oh well.

I have to agree with the majority. It is a damn good episode that can have me jumping at some parts, tense throughout and smiling at the end...
I agree with Soybean that I have always supported a professional relationship between Mulder and Scully. It irritates me that a man and a woman can't share a special connection without every one assuming they're "doin' it". However, who else would the father be? As Mulder said, Skinner? ![]() Well, I'm glad there will be a season nine, if just to see what Chris Carter does next. I mean what else is there to watch on TV anyhow? And for people who don't want to continue to next season, this season finale offered as much closure as I have seen in the X-Files in a long time. So...how long is it until Evolution comes out? ![]() |

Well, I liked how they used a bit of that Christ-like symbolism with the 3 Lone Gunmen bearing gifts like the 3 wise men. Plus having Mulder "follow the light/star" to find the chosen child was a bit much.
I guess we must assume that this is Mulder and Scully's child from their interlude in Oregon when Mulder and Billy Miles were abducted. I take it that the kid just a normal kid? And that is why the aliens didn't do anything and bugged out ASAP once they saw that it wasn't some metallic lifeform. Skinner is one good shot! Love the bullet-cam effect. The kiss was very special, and did send the show off for those who wanted Mulder and Scully to finally express their love for one another. Now, unfortunately, true life enters the fray. X-Files is renewed, and Scully will make a contractually obligated appearance in all of next season's episodes while Reyes and Doggett do all the leg work. Mulder is out of the FBI, so what will Scully do?

Personally I think the whole Scully/Mulder thing was played out and it's time to move on. Is it really just going to be Reyes and Doggett next year? I have a feeling no matter what though next season will probably be the last.

I was so afraif that this was going to be a horrible episode. I told my wife that it was a mutant/alien baby I was going to leave and possibly never return.
I was hooked from that kick butt metal spine to the long awaited kiss. Okay...so some of you didn't want the kiss. I remember the screams from the crowd during the "kissing scene" in the movie. You could tell who was a fan and who was dragged there by friends. I dragged nearly 20 people with me that were casual fans and they didn't seem to get it. I was very glad to see it. Gave me renewed faith in the series......which will be totally different next time we see it Oh well.....after such a good show....I think I'll be able to handle next season even if it stinks as bad as the Flukeman. ![]()

I think that this was a great way to pass the torch of the X-Files. We all knew that Mulder wasn't coming back next season, and lets face it, Scully and Dogget just weren't meant to be a team. I like the Reyes/Dogget pairing and I think that if the chemistry is right then the show could go on for more than another season maybe. Of course that depends on the originality of the writers. Is this so different from, say, Star Trek? X-Files is just doing it within the show rather than cancelling one and starting another. People complain about X-Files lasting so long, but Trek has been around for... what is it? 35 years right? And it is still going strong. I think that the use of a new cast makes the chance of X-Files lasting a long time very possible. Lets see what they do with it next season. I know I'll be watching.
