How do I get rid of the Microsoft Networking logon and still.....

How do I get rid of the Microsoft Networking logon that pops up every time I boot and asks for a password, and still have access to my home LAN? I am running Windows 98. I have a laptop running Windows 98 SE, and it does not come up that way, but asks for the password as soon as I try to access the LAN. I much prefer that. I looked at the properties for "Client for Microsoft Networks" on both machines, and they appear to be the same.

In your network control panel, in the 'primary network logon' drop down box, change to 'windows logon' from 'client for microsoft networks'

I had tried that before I posted, Dave99, but all that does is give me a different logon screen. My laptop comes up without asking for ANY logon or password.

Go into your \Windows directory and delete any .pwl files. At your next login put in your name and a blank password. Confirm the blank password. No more login screen.

I think that Tweak UI will do the same thing and you wont have to enter the password even when you access the lan
