Dell Inspiron 3263 ?

I just bought one through HSN and received it yesterday. The only problem so far is the loose fitting(not making proper contact) HDMI outlet in the back of the computer. I have tried various HDMI cables w/o success. I have never had a problem with any device having a loose fit except for the newly purchased computer.

Is there any HDMI cable's that have a tighter fit available through Amazon?

The last thing I want is to have a repairman fix the problem.

As far as I know, HDMI was mean to be universal, so no different sizes. Sounds like there may be something wrong with that jack. But just to be certain, is it an HDMI port, or a display port?

Yep-It is HDMI outlet. I bought some HDMI adapters from Amazon a few months ago and I will try one and see if that works.

From what I can tell, this is an all-in-one device, and the HDMI port is an HDMI in. What are you trying to connect to this PC?

Amazon has some HDMI cables with "AVGrip" locking connectors. These may provide enough pressure to keep the cable in place in the port.

But you should make sure the port isn't just defective. You may want to try getting an exchange since you just got it, before you start using it a copying/creating personal files on it.

BTW, there are different HDMI sizes. There's both Type C (Mini) and Type D (Micro). I've seen these on camcorders and the like. However, the port on your PC is definitely the original size HDMI.

Re: Dell Inspiron 3263 ?

I've talked to Dell about this. He said it's an HDMI out. He also said that they are all universal(the same size). I did ask if this was an HDMI In and he said no. Still waiting on what they want too do. I did mention that they should have an adapter with a tighter fit so they wouldn't need to have a repairman fix it.

I did mention to them that when I received it last week, the top part of the monitor was open and I snapped it closed. Don't know if that would cause something inside not too work.

What are you plugging into it? Another monitor for a dual-display?

Re: Dell Inspiron 3263 ?

I found this Spec sheet, which lists the specs for the 3263 as this:
https://katalog.atcomp.cz/katalog/D-...n_3263_AIO.pdf
Quote:
Ports & Connectors:

Rear -(2) USB 2.0, RJ-45, Audio Line Out, DC power, HDMI-In (Intel), HDMI-out (AMD)

Side -(2) USB 3.0, 4:1 MCR, (1)Microphone/Headset jack
So if it has an Intel CPU, it's an HDMI in, if it's AMD, it's an HDMI-out

The models I can find on HSN all have an Intel CPU:

Re: Dell Inspiron 3263 ?

The service tag number on the back of the computer and box correspond's with it being HDMI out.

It does have an Intel sticker on the front.

Re: Dell Inspiron 3263 ?

My eye sight isn't the greatest but it looks like there is an HDMI with the arrow pointing to the left. I guess that means it's HDMI In.

Edit-Just talked to another agent and they confirmed it's an HDMI out.

Does it look like this (spoilered for size)?

Spoiler:

That does look like an "In Arrow" icon.

The AMD model that Consumer Reports reviewed had the HDMI port in the top row and didn't include the "In Arrow" icon:

It doesn't look like the top one.

I am just going to wait it out and see what they say.
