Question on Tablets/Memory/Games

Last year we got my son a 7 inch Amazon fire tablet- he loved it, but with only 8GB of memory, the multitudes of games, minecraft, etc that an 8 yr old puts on a tablet just doesn't cut it. Even though we have a 64GB sd card in there, most apps wont save to the card.

Any suggestions? The Fire tablets charge port is crap, and he we'd like to get him a new tablet that won't break the bank. I'd go with the 16GB fire since its cheap, but wondering if that is even enough memory - does anyone has any suggestions/advice?

Thanks!

Re: Question on Tablets/Memory/Games

I would say that even 16gb is lean for someone using a lot of games. I don't game that much and my 16gb tablets fill up quick and i need to clear it out once in a while.

What is your price range?

Can you go up a little more? 32 GB 8" Fire HD tablets were on sale for $139 as of last week. Not sure if they still are.

It's significantly improved specs over the current one that you have. If he was happy with the fire 7 then he will love this one.

That is with special offers. Make sure you do some research to see if that is OK. The one without special offers is $114.99

You can buy the special offers one and disable it , or at least i was able to on my fire 7. Or you can pay Amazon a fee to disable it after you bought it .

I was also able to side load Google play on my fire y

Re: Question on Tablets/Memory/Games

Thanks everyone - we have the offers screens on all three of our kids kindles - they are very unobtrusive and there is never any objectionable content. I have no problem with them at all. Merry Christmas to all....
