Re: iPhone 7

Sprint has a similar "free" iphone 7 with trade in of 6/6s over 24 month bill credit.

Re: iPhone 7

Looks like there is a lightning splitter in the works so you can charge and listen to music simultaneously, made by belkin. Costs $40.

I am sure cheaper versions will come out later

Likewise there will probably be a one that puts the 3.5mm jack and extra Lighting jack in one, instead of this Belkin splitter which will still require the Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter that comes with the phone.

Right that would make sense. Not sure why belkin didn't do that.

I think it's the "working closely with Apple" that did it. Apple doesn't want to admit that a lot of people want to be able to both charge and listen to music, so they can pretend that the Belkin is just a "general purpose" splitter. Plus it's "future forward" since it'll work with the Lightning EarPods included with the iPhone.

True. Apple could try to be pushing lightning earphones... All of which needs to pay royalty to apple. $$$

Not to mention, it locks you into the Apple ecosystem more.

Re: iPhone 7

Honestly I'm more annoyed by the need for an extra adapter to charge and listen at the same time than I am by them dropping the 3.5mm port. It boggles the mind. I may seriously just stick with my 6 for a couple more years.

Re: iPhone 7

I am. I have to call though. I took my note 7 back to best buy today and got the refund but when I added a different phone to have for the week it doesnt match the one on contract, the note 7. I was told I had to call in to preorder for a manager to waive that...what crap

Re: iPhone 7

Stayed up to order one for my daughter to replace her 3-year-old 5C. My 6S Plus is fine for another year.

God, it took forever to get through all the errors. Was trying back and forth between the website and the app. Website eventually won.

Re: iPhone 7

As I mentioned above, I'm in the Apple upgrade program. By the time I was able to connect to the app, it sent me to the website to handle the reservation for the upgrade. Okay, fine. The Jet Black was already unavailable in my area, so I went with matte black. By the time I confirmed my reservation, not only was the black sold out in the entire state, but every single iPhone allotted for the upgrade program in my state was sold out. When I tried to check again, I got a message saying the entire allotment of phones for the upgrade program in the whole United States was reserved and I could try again at 8 AM on 9/17.

This has me considering not upgrading this year at all and just doing financing every two years. What's the point of an upgrade program if you can't easily upgrade? The whole thing of going into the Apple Store and getting your credit checked is also a pain.

Re: iPhone 7

I ordered the Jet Black 256 GB Plus. It shows 9-23. Had I chosen the Rose Gold 128 GB Plus, I could have gotten it 9-16. But...yeah. Rose Gold? Really? Even my wife didn't want a Rose Gold phone.

The other colors were at various shipping dates. Nothing earlier than 9-23, and for some (Jet Black 128 GB) it showed 11-4.

I ordered through Verizon, and I am paying $40ish a month and trading in my 64 GB 6 Plus for $650. So that'll take $28 off my bill. Basically, a new iPhone for $13-$14 a month

Check that. I ordered black. I guess the jet black ones were in October. But I'm putting a case on it so I don't really care

This thread almost unreadable for anyone else? Links often screw up now and lengthen the screen to unreadable proportions.

The last two slickdeals links D.Pham4GLTE (>60GB) made are extending the page width. The forum software should truncate them, but isn't.

I've managed to manually truncate them into shorter links, but I can't change D.Pham4GLTE (>60GB)'s posts.

If it can be any carrier branded phone, you could buy the 5s from cricket for $150 and use that as a trade in.

So they limit the number of upgrades? Even if they have phones available?
