Comcast - Anyone have the X1 service?

I'm making arrangements to set-up Comcast in our new house. And wondering whether to switch to the X1 service.

How is this new service? Is this better than having multiple DVRs in different rooms? Is the menu an improvement over the standard cable box? Are there any disadvantages?

Thanks for the input.

Re: Comcast - Anyone have the X1 service?

The main advantage of the X1 for me was the ability to watch a saved show/movie on any DVR in the house. The menu isn't incredibly fast but it isn't incredibly slow either. It takes awhile to set up your favorite channels but I've found that to be the case with every system I've used. The big disadvantage for me is the fact that the menu is unidirectional: if I'm scrolling through my favorite channels on the menu, once I get to the last channel, it does not automatically go back to the first channel.

Is the experience on the secondary boxes the same as the main box? Is there any lag while it gets info from the main box?

Anyone know if the Harmony universal remotes are compatible with the X1 boxes?

Re: Comcast - Anyone have the X1 service?

I'm pretty happy with X1 and find it to be a huge improvement over their old system. They're still working out the bugs, but for the most part I haven't had many complaints lately.

The worst thing for me was when I first got it I didn't know I had to "pair" the remote to the box, so apparently it was using IR instead of RF (or maybe it's the other way around) so the box felt like it was RIDICULOUSLY slow. Once I paired the remote things got infinitely more snappy.

I didn't notice any lag on the secondary box and I didn't have any trouble pairing my Harmony remote with the main box.
