Remote viewing - Slingbox? Monsoon Vulkano Flow? Other?

Interested in viewing programs recorded on my cable box pvr from remote locations. No need for dual tuner as I'd be the only one watching what is playing. Looked at Slingbox Solo but there are lots of complaints about capacitors burning out and terrible customer service. Monsoon Vulkano Flow doesn't seem to have as many complaints. I'll be using a laptop over various connections including some not so strong wireless signals. Any suggestions?

My mom uses a Vulkano with her iPad. She likes it a lot. It has built in WiFi it doesn't have to be near the router. That said she did have trouble with connection with her original router. She bought a new linksys router and has no issues since.

Only thing I don't like about my vulkano is the app price. I think I paid $80 for the flow but $12.99 for the Andriod app for my phone and now the I have an ipad it'll be another $12.99. Other than that I love it, the pq is fine on my phone and laptop. I have it hooked up to a TiVo in my office so its pretty neat being able to remotely use the Dvr functions.

Re: Remote viewing - Slingbox? Monsoon Vulkano Flow? Other?

Thanks for the advice. Based on your opinions and some other research, and since I don't watch a lot of sports, I have abandoned this idea and will continue using another popular method of watching my favorite shows remotely! I appreciate the help!
