Two minor gripes, but not really with the phone itself...pretty much just related to the Bumper I purchased with it:

1. Headphone opening is just slightly too small. I can get the headphones in (not the miserable factory ones) but it takes some work.

2. Dock/charger opening is almost the exact same amount too small. I can maneuver the whit e charger cord around to fit...but again, takes some work. And doesn't necessarily "click" to stay put.

Again, this is just for the Bumper. Figured I would pass along the info.

Reserved my iPhone for in-store pickup, arrive at 3pm and was told it would be a 4:30-6 hour wait just to buy it. Fuck that. I would have had it shipped if Apple's website was taking a shit.

So I should expect to look at this "Waiting for Activation" message for a while? I'm plugged into iTunes and restored my backup from the 3G. AT&T's site seems to be aware of the new SIM card and IMEI, but my account still shows my 3G phone and the phone shows the waiting message.

OK seemed to take 15 minutes.

Waited with my friend who pre-ordered his:

In line at 7:15am, out the door 4:10pm... phone not activated properly..

You read the times right. From 7:15am in a parking lot at Victoria Gardens, CA to getting into the door around 3:45pm, and finally finishing at 4:10pm. And the phone does not work?! WHY?

That's a long f'in time to wait for a device. I finally ended up getting the Snow Leopard upgrade for my Macbook Pro since I waited for so long.

Seriously, I just saw that and if true I'm potentially pissed. I didn't have any issues yesterday, but I did get a dropped call today. Maybe it's coincidence, but I'm left handed so I don't fancy being told to hold the phone a different way. This would well make me think twice about Apple products I currently have or would buy in the future (including stock). What a coarse flippant answer if legitimate!...

I can understand your frustration with Apple, but it really sounds like you should be pissed off at AT&T. All Apple pre-order process did, aside from checking you out an item, was go through the AT&T servers.

Plus, as you said your job is to review iPhone games. So what now?!

On a related note, a friend of mine is jumping ship from T-Mobile to get the iP4. However, she said they are the best customer service experience she has ever had, to the point that she said she'll pay the ETF to go back to T-Mobile if they announce an iPhone for them in the future.

That's crap, dude. Switch to Sprint, get an EVO, and then we can video chat over 3G (or 4G depending on where you are).

Weird isn't the word I would use. Stupid would probably be better. Stupid that Apple made a phone without testing to see whether or not holding it might cut out your reception. I will assume that they didn't make the phone specifically that way so you were forced to buy accessories.

Spent four hours in line for my pre-order. Met a lot of nice people. It is my first iphone so I have a lot of learning to do.

The first thing I am trying to figure out is how to send a photo I just took to Facebook. It gives me the option to email, set as wallpaper or mms but not to send to Facebook. If someone could help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Go into the facebook app, then select pictures then hit the photo icon in the top right. From there you can take a new pic or upload one you have already taken/.

You summed up my feelings perfectly. Tried for hours to order it online and suffered through hours of bullshit. No phone is worth a five hour wait in line.

I was able to get a spot in line to buy a phone, but when I got to the table, they told me that I had to buy a screen protector for 30 bucks and pay 10 bucks for them to install it. They wouldn't sell me the phone without buying that crap. Needless to say I left and called customer service right away. They are investigating the matter and are going to call me back.

Sounds like the crap they started pulling with the laptops with stuff already installed or no choice at all. That is super annoying.

I would have asked to see the manager on the spot. Not the department manager, the store manager. And if the store manager said the same thing, I would have demanded that he get me on the phone with his district manager or regional manager. That would have put enough fear into him that they would have sold you the phone by itself.

The thing is they already had the phone unboxed and applied the screen protectors. I called customer service and they are going to call me back in a day or so.

I know people that work in other Best Buy stores (I'm a former employee) and they all said it was bullshit.

That's why Apple never should have gotten in league with Best Buy. AT&T was necessary because other carriers scoffed, I get it. But Best Buy is just fucking horrid. They want $50 to install a software like iTunes. Worse than used car dealers and snake oil salesmen.

Yes but any communication I got came from Apple. Apple cancelled my order. Apple wouldn't approve expedited shipping. Not once did Apple ever say the issue was with AT&T. If they had, I'd blame the shit out of them. But they won't even do that.

Wow! Some super suck experience. I feel really fortunate. I had a seemless experience.

I did go to BB today to look for a case. I didn't like any of them. Almost bought a screen protector, but didn't like the cost for the ones' they had. I like the one on my 3G. It is non-figure print model. But I'm afraid is it will effect the quality of the image.

Oh...I say my experience was seemless, but I have never received the iPhone extended warranty I ordered at the same time as the phone. No separate tracking. I'm assuming they are sending regular mail? Anyone else not get theirs?

I pretty much decided I will return it and get the SquareTrader.
