Vista Guardian 2010 - Anyone Else Have Issues Removing This?

Apparently this thing called Vista Guardian is a phony virus software that spreads malware and all sorts of crap on your computer. I have no idea how I got it, but it restricts you from using any sort of .exe extension on your computer. It's on my laptop and I tried following the steps here:

However, when I do the first step (which is copy some text in to Notepad and saving it as a .reg file) Vista won't let me do it.. so I'm at a loss.

Anyone know how to get rid of this stupid thing? I have no idea how I got it to begin with.

If the above doesn't work, check over at WindowsBBS.com for help and guidance. I've used that site before when I got a virus on my old desktop and they told me how to get rid of it and what programs to use to prevent it from happening again.
