Computer Diagnostic Software
Does anyone know of a good (or decent) diagnostic program? My system has been REALLY slow for a while. I thought it was a HD space issue, so I used a program and repartitioned my HDD to give it an extra 10gig. That worked for a while, but my system is still really slow. Now, I know there can be 100's of reasons for this, but what I'm looking for is a program that can narrow it down, and give suggestions as to steps to take.
I'm sure there's got to be something like that out there.

Re: Computer Diagnostic Software
Two main components can be tested for free
Memory - http://www.memtest86.com/download.html Hard Drive - find out what brand drive is in your machine and download the tool from the manufacturer Seagate - http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...loads/seatools Western Digital - http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp Most slow down issues are caused within windows itself, you might be better off formatting and re-installing windows *IF* the above tests pass. |
