Looking for wireless router recommendations
I currently have a Linksys WRT54GS and it's been spotty at best. I have a laptop, PS3 and Xbox 360 running on my network. What wireless router do you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for wireless router recommendations
Whatever you do, don't get D-Link. Horrible tech support and questionable durability. I have the DGL-4500. Was working fine for 10 months and the wifi just started to act up. Major pain dealing with tech support and customer service to get a replacement. Now that I got the replacement, wifi is still spotty. So instead, I decided to use to my Linksys as the AP and keep the D-Link as the router/switch.
I have the WRT54G, WRT54GS and WRT54GL. All of them are loaded with the DD-WRT 2.4 SP2 firmware. With the firmware, I can increase the TX power more to increase the signal. |

Re: Looking for wireless router recommendations
I use the TrendNet that was recomended here a little while ago. It was like $20. It has worked fine thus far.

OP Have you tried upgrading the firmware to DD WRT or Tomato? Doing that may fix some of your signal issues as you can boost the signal above the normal Linksys firmwares limits. FWIW, I ended up buying a Linksys WRTG54G2 after trying that Trendnet and a friends older Netgear Pre N router (would need to be rebooted like every 2 days) and have been very happy. I still have the Trendnet functioning as an extension of my network though (hardwired it to the linksys with a long cable set the wireless settings to those of the linksys just a different channel).

Re: Looking for wireless router recommendations
I'm still using my TrendNet and it's been the best router I've had in terms of range and stability out of 6 or so G-types I've owned so far.
