Cannot add folder in Itunes...what am I doing wrong?

Ok, I have been recently cleaning up my Itunes, and I noticed that I cannot add one folder into my Itunes library. I have the latest version of Itunes currently.

I checked the properties of the files, and they all appear to have ID tags. It appears that Itunes adds the files, but when I go to search for them, they are not there.

Any help?

After opening iTunes, have you tried manually dragging the file onto "Library" on the side bar?

Yep, I tried that also. I even tried adding file by file, since it only seems to be like 6 folders I'm having this issue with.

Might be the file format? I had some MP3's (which played fine in WMP) that for some reason would never load in iTunes...

Hmmmm, I wonder if I can convert them or retag or something....these all play fine, and all have the Album and Album Artist filled out in Windows. Odd.

If you right click each mp3 file and select open with iTunes do they play?

Try clearing the ID3 tags from them and then re-adding them without ID3 tags into Itunes. I had a couple of albums that would not add into Itunes and after clearing the tags out they added just fine. No idea what the problem was, but worth a try.

What is the best way to clear tags? Just do a properties in Windows and delete them or another better way?

I would use MP3tag (free program)

I use Winamp and just added them in Winamp and selected all the files right clicked on file info and cleared out all the info that's in there. You can re-tag all the stuff in Itunes one you get it to actually add in there.
