Yahoo mail issues re: staying logged in on same computer...

Seems recently my computer won't stay logged in to yahoo mail at all. tried deleting cookies. still won't work. even though i check "keep me logged in for 2 weeks" when i sign in, still makes me enter password every time. PITA. any possible known issues or resolutions to this?

using firefox, btw.

As far as I can tell the "keep me logged in for 2 weeks" just retains your user ID. I have to enter my password every 24 hours. You shouldn't have to enter the password every time unless you're just using it once a day. I seem to recall reading that 1 day for the password is their limit for security reasons.

i never had to enter my login or password in the past. i should say, i'd enter it once, and it'd stay like that for week/months at a time where i wouldn't have login again. now it's making me do it every single time.

I only need to log in with my password every 2 weeks. Have you checked your internet settings? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I also don't remember if there is an option to turn off remembering passwords on yahoo. you may have clicked something that disallows it. is there a way to reset settings or something?

Re: Yahoo mail issues re: staying logged in on same computer...

I figured it out.

1. Switch to Yahoo Classic
2. Click on Options/Mail options in the top right
3. Click account information on the bottom left
4. Enter your password
5. Section 2 is Member Information, click edit
6. Turn on Opie and Anthony, XM 202
7. Change the option for "prompt for password"

Some of the latest updates of Firefox have an issue with cookies, which are used to keep you logged in.

There is a fix for it. Bur before that.

What version of Firefox are you running? My understanding is 3.0.7 resolved a lot of this stuff.

so, this was me being stupid. i'm lazy and hadn't checked any setting since i posted this thread. i looked and in the check down box "keep cookies until i close firefox" was checked instead of until they expire. problem resolved.
