Why can't I see my iPhone in Windows Explorer?

The title says it all!! Anybody know the answer? Is it a problem with my computer, a problem with my iPhone or did Apple design it this way? If they designed it this way - WHY!?!?!

Running Windows XP-SP3.

By the way, iTunes recognizes the iPhone.

Not 100%, but is your iPod set to be used as a drive? I "think" that's the only way that a PC will see it...

I will check this tonight and post back but I would not lay the blame on Apple. It is after all a Microsoft OS you are talking about.

iPhone is different from an iPod in that it cannot be set to be used as a drive when you plug it in. At least, that's been my experience.

^ What he said. Apparently it was designed this way.
