I have a jailbreaked Ipod touch and I dont get how to use the installer app. I'm trying to install the usirius app. I've added the correct source and the source shows up under the "sources" banner but nothing else happened. All the guides I've seen pretty much say "add the source and install the app!" Am I missing something obvious?

Although I didn't install Installer last time I jailbroke my phone (nothing that good on Installer that I can't get with Cydia), I can probably remember how.

So you've added your source, now go to Install, find the package you want to install (I'd tap All Packages) and scroll down to "u" for "usirius". Tap it, then it should say Install on the top right. So install it! This is all from memory though, so I may be wrong.

If you do get it though, don't forget to restart before you play with your new app! It never hurts and always ensures stability.

Maybe something screwy happened when I installed Installer. I dont have an "install" option at the bottom. And programs dont show up anywhere after I add a source. Maybe I should uninstall/reinstall?

Can you run Installer, and take a screenshot? It'd help to see it. (Press the Hold button and the Home button at the same time) I haven't used it in a long time, which is why I didn't install it on my last jailbreak.

How do I post the screenshot? I pushed both buttons and the screen just flashed.

Never mind.

I believe you can just go to Search and search for "usirius" to install from there.

This is all I could find through Google:

Quote:
uSirius - Sirius Radio on your iPhone. For you who’re fond of listening to Sirius radio, there’s an application called uSirius that can help you to listen it on your iPhone.

How to install uSirius - Sirius Radio on your iPhone?
0. You’ll need a jailbroken iPhone to install uSirius
1. Add the “iSpazio.net” repository to your “Sources” list, Here’s how:
a. Start up your Installer.app
b. Hit the “Sources” tab at the bottom of your screen
c. Tap the “Edit” button in the upper right
d. Then tap “Add” in the upper left
e. When prompted to do so, enter the “iSpazio.net” in the text box.
f. You’ll find the application listed, Install and restart your iPhone.
2. Simply input your username and password, and let the app load all the channels and channel logos. In a WiFi connection it takes no more than 5 minutes, and you’re ready. A total of 163 channels are available at your disposal.

Alternatively, you may want to try out FlyTunes.fm

The main reason I posted about i.TV was because TiVo's optimized site always resulted in errors for me and never scheduled any of the recordings I attempted. From the tivocommunity forum thread about it, I'm apparently not alone in that.

I got an iPod Touch 16 Gig for myself couple of days ago and I think it's a great little device.

In regards to apps for the Touch, I downloaded the following:
- Facebook
- Drinks
- All Recipes
- The Weather Channel

I was looking to download MLB At Bat but it seems like they are going to go to the pay route and charge you yearly for the app. I don't think it's going to be worth it for me since I have to go to a wifi hotspot when I'm out of the house in order to connect to the scores.

Is it worth having Shazam for the Touch? Don't I need an external microphone in order for the app to recognize the song?

I would have love to have Pandora but it seems that the internet streaming is restricted to US IP only

Are they any other worthwhile apps for Soccer (EPL, La Liga, Serie A, etc), Fantasy Football, NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB that you guys would recommend?

What about an app for XM available for the Touch?

Whether is a free or pay apps doesn't matter to me as long as the features and stability are good.

Is there a good website where they review the tons of apps available for the iPhone and iPod Touch?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you would. That's too bad because it's a great little app.

?? I use shazam all the time and it works without a mic. Or am I thinking of Midomi?

Edit to add: Sorry, see now that we're talking about the touch. Ignore my stupidity.

Yeah, it's too bad the Touch doesn't have a mic. I mean there is Shazam and all the voice recording apps that could be used. I always thought the Touch had everything the iPhone had except the phone.

I was disappointed when I found out that I needed an external mic for Shazam on my Touch. Maybe they'll include the mic on the next version of the Touch.

I downloaded more apps:
- Bejeweled 2 Great game and worth every penny of it. Loved the fact that you can use the music from your library.
- Now Playing It has the listing of all of the surrounding theatres near me.
- Pro Football. It looks okay so far. I'm not sure yet.
- Sportacular. I haven't play around with it yet.
- tChess Lite. It looks like a solid game.

This may be a stupid question but it's there a way to organize all of the applications in your Touch so I can set the order of preference?

If it's the same as the iphone, just press and hold any app button until the whole screen shimmies. Then you can drag things around.

Both of these devices need to have folders. It's a no brainer!

Seriously, I have about 6 screens of apps and I have stopped downloading any apps because most of them don't get used because I don't know what I have.

Since Apple was the original of graphical folders back in the 80's you would think they would have supplied folders from the very beginning of these devices. And I'm not going to jailbreak my phone for folders.

I believe you can get an external mic for the Touch (2G) which would make Shazam work.
