Yeah if you Jailbreak it (very easy to do) you can get an App called Catagories which allows you to place folders on your iPhone. There's also a cool app that allows you to place a fifth icon on the dock.

Same here. What are the risks/rewards? Probably best answered on an iPhone forum, but I like all my needs met here at dvdtalk.

The rewards are plentiful... Being about to modify your phones look and capabilities, from MMS, to recording video, to creating folders on your desktop, and so much more. It's just awesome.

Risks... I'm sure there may be a fraction of a chance it may brick, but I sincerely doubt it. I haven't heard of that happening much these days.

You can check out how easy it is at this tutorial here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1557

Also, look around http://howardforums.com/ for more info and asking questions.

Thanks, maybe....

Speaking of apps, something weird just happened to my iPhone. I have 9 screens of apps, almost full. I had them organized by type, and they all stayed exactly where I put them thru several days and syncs. Just now, I noticed that almost every app has been moved, they are all completely jumbled from where I had them.

Sometime in the last hour or two, with my phone not hooked up to anything and nothing going on except some solitaire and the like, everything jumbled up.

Any ideas? Is this common?

Not officially, no. I think there's a web workaround, and a jail-break app at the moment.

A company is working on a Sirus app for the iPhone store, but it hasn't been released yet:
http://www.macnn.com/articles/08/08/...pp.for.iphone/

None of these mention any additional cost for streaming Sirius, aside from the standard subscription fee those with the service are already paying.

I d/l FlyCast. It works well and is free.

AOL radio works surprisingly well too.

A Joost streaming app is now available.

I agree: hopefully Hulu isn't too far behind.

Anyone use or try out one of the landscape keyboard apps for email? I'm looking into getting the iPhone for someone older, and the keyboard in landscape mode would definitely be a lot easier to use.

Big Keyboard Email ($0.99):
http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/?p=7771

"SMS" Landscape Big Keyboard (currently $0.99):
http://www.apptism.com/apps/sms-emai...-keyboard-isms

5 more Keyboard Email Apps ($0.99-$4.99):
http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palmad...scape-key.html

It's a shame these keyboards only work for writing emails. The iPhone only natively supports the landscape keyboard in the Safari web browser; it'd be nice if you could use it in the other included apps.

having to pay for a landscape keyboard, albeit cheap, is just ridiculous.

^Yes it is. But you have to assume its a short term solution. Apple will eventually add on landscape texting/email.

Wurdle is my must have app. It's a really great word/scrabble-esque game and well worth checking out.

For those who use Mint.com (GREAT financial tool, and free!) there's now an iPhone/Touch free app to carry it with you (and it can be deactivated through the website in case you lose your phone/Touch). I couldn't find it by searching the store so go to Mint.com and click the link to bring the app page up on iTunes.

I hoep to be getting a Touch for XMAS, so this thread will come in handy. Not sure what I can do with it at this point or what apps I want, but I'm sure something will hit my fancy.
