Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
Yep I have a 120 and it works perfectly and so does the zune software. I'm glad for no updates it's flawless interface when I want to play music on the pc. I've had an ipod years ago, and itunes was pure torture and an eye sore compared to the zune software.
Yep I'm not fond of touch screens. I hate touch screen remotes too. Had one a decade ago. HATED IT. I don't see that changing. The zunehd you can't even turn the F'ing volume down on the god damn thing without touching the interface and looking at it.....come on are you serious. That's pure stupid, shows how much thought they put into things sometimes. I only wish it was bigger than 120g. I have 560 prince cds, plus other music, Buffy and Angel 12 seasons of tv between them. I'm all full and then some...GRRRRR.

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
How do you figure? The HD is disappointing but the software has been very good, especially since version 3. I'm not sure how any one can say nothing has changed, unless you're someone that has never touched a Zune or paid attention to the software updates.

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
just because touchscreens were bad 10 years ago doesn't mean they are bad now. a lot of work has been done on the hardware and software side to make them better.
For the ZuneHD, i still can't figure out why MS chose to compete with the Nano instead of the ipod Touch. Supposedly there is going to be software coming out, but it's all ad based and will have 30 second ads popping up |

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
I think hdtv00 was refering to the fundamental problems with using a touch screen that haven't changed in 10 years. Like you have to look at them to use them and, power button aside, there are often no single function, always available buttons like volume/playback controls.
You can get volume control with many headphones, but do any of the touchscreen ipods or Zune support inline playback controls like the new Shuffle?

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
Of course that's what I was referring to, thought it was obvious since I gave example.
Not having to look at the damn thing when it's in its case to change volume is THE MAIN feature I used when listening to the damn thing. And the whole HD but not is just a gimmick/buzzword and just pisses me off. Sure they meant HD radio....right. That damn thing barely has better res than the current zunes the whole thing HD wise is a joke. The apps are out now and they do have ads before you can use them. The calculator doesn't and niether does the weather one but most of the other 7 do.

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
I am happy with my Zune 120. I don't want to downgrade my storage capability. And, I get all my internet functionality from my G1 phone.

Nice. I have a Zune 80 and a G1. I'm loving the integration of the G1 with Google services.

Re: The Microsoft Zune Thread (formerly "XBOX Portable")
Microsoft released a few new apps/games for the Zune HD (all free):
* PGR: ferrari edition, a 3d racegame * Lucky lane bowling, a 3d bowling game * Vans Sk8: Pool service, a 3d Skate game * Piano, a simple piano where you can play your own tunes on * Audio Surf: Tilt, ride your music – you choose a song that the game will turn into a roller coaster track for you to ride * Checkers, I don’t think you’ll need a description for this one http://www.hellofromeurope.com/wordp...-3d-gaming/103
