MSN Toolbar

I installed MSN Toolbar for IE for the tabs. It slowed down IE a lot. It would even occasionally cause my computer to freeze up for like half a minute. So I uninstalled it. When Windows Live toolbar came out, I installed that, thinking that it would be a different toolbar. It had a few extra features geared towards Windows Live but otherwise, I suspect it's the exact same toolbar. Anyhow, that caused the same slowdown problem. Anyone else experience a slowdown with MSN or Windows Live toolbars? Anyone know if it's fixable, or is it just poor design? I don't have any issues with Yahoo or Google toolbars. No issues with Firefox either.

Yes, I know I should just go with Firefox, but some pages just don't display correctly still in Firefox.
