Signature In MS Outlook 2003

When I attach a file (or series of files) to a message in Outlook, I would like it to automatically put a line at the bottom of the message (below the signature line) that states the number of attachments and lists them by name. If it could also include the size of each attachment, it would be nice (but not necessary).

Is there a plugin that could do this for me? I know other email clients do this (especially UNIX clients), but I'm kinda stuck with Outlook for the time being.

Technical Information
  • MS Outlook 2003 (SP2)
  • Not running on Exchange
  • Windows XP (SP2)

Don't know the answer to your question, but just wondering why this is needed - if you're looking at the email from outlook there are graphics that show the # of attachments and if you open the email up, it will show the size.

On text readers such as a blackberry, it will show the number of attachments and size... just wondering. thx

I don't know if I have a really good answer as to why I need it. It's really just more something that I want to be able to do. There may be valid reasons for wanting it (possibly other readers, summarizing information, etc.), but I'm really just selfish and want this ability. Plus, it sounds like something that should be able to be done.
