How do I import fonts into Word? Please help.

Hello. I have done this before, but for the life of me I can't remember how to do it. I have downloaded fonts and they are in zipped files. What I need to do is make them available in Word for use. Any suggestions? I have completely forgotten.

Thanks a lot.

I think they have to be unzipped, first.

Then, there is a fonts icon in control panel. Open that, use file|install font
There's probably something in "help." I haven't done it for a long time either.

Correct. Windows fonts need to be installed by selecting Install New Font under the File menu of the Fonts directory (which can be accessed through Control Panel or C:\WINDOWS\FONTS). And, yes, you do need to uncompress the .zip files first.

If they are PostScript fonts, you will need both the .pfm and .pfb files to install them properly. OpenType (.otf) and TrueType (.ttf) fonts are comprised of only one file.

Thanks guys, you have been a lot of help. Really stupid question now: How do I unzip? Is it the same as extracting?

Thanks. I think I figured it out, except for some reason periods don't appear.
