I Just Went MAC... now I need some advice...

I recently (as in today) switched to an Imac. I can't beleive how easy it was to get my wireless network up and running, it took about 5 seconds (literally).

Anyway, I've been away for some time- I think the last time I used a mac was back in 1997 or so- so I was wondering. What are some good sites to read that are MAC user heavy? I want to start to become a MAC community member?

Any ideas?

I really like the AppleNova Forums. It's a very friendly group of mac addicts.

Me too.. after they announced the intel thing (gutsiest move ever btw) I thought hardware sales would grind to a hard halt.

Most Mac users feel that if you need a new Mac now or are switching now there really is no reason to wait. Most don't want to be the beta testers of version A hardware and a PowerPC Mac will last most users at least 4 to 5 years. By the time you're ready to upgrade the version B Intel Macs will be out.

Also keep in mind that it won't be until 2007 before the whole line is planned to be switched over. There could be delays pushing that to 2008 so waiting 2.5 years seems pointless when the Macs being sold now are still very good and useful. It's not like they're selling obsolete hardware. It will be supported for many, many years.

As for discussion sites don't overlook Apple's own forums in their support area.

Hardware switch isn't going to happen anytime soon, and will initially be only for the ibook line, and then ultimately by mid 2007 Q1 2008 will be apple standard.

I needed a new computer now, not 2 years from now.

I better catch this now before someone less friendly reams you. Mac is not an acronym and should be just referred to as Mac, not MAC (which is actually Media Access Control address that your ethernet devices have).
