Help importing digital camcorder footage
I have an older Panasonic digital camcorder which has been rock solid for the year's I've had it. Well, I have a baby on the way in a few weeks, and want to be ready to transfer the video to my laptop so I can burn DVD's and send them to people. The camcorder has a 4 pin firewire output and my laptop has a 4 pin firewire input. I ordered the wire which should be here any day. What else am I going to have to do in order to import the video?
Then I assume I'll need some DVD editing software if I want to make it all fancy with menu's and titles and stuff. Suggestions? Thanks. |

for importing, try windv (http://windv.mourek.cz/) or dvio (http://www.carr-engineering.com/dvio.htm)

Will the Pinnacle Studio 9 software I'm thinking about getting for editing also do it? I was under the impression that Pinnacle would only allow me to edit, but now that I'm looking into it more, it seems to me that it will also allow me do to the import through my firewire port.
