A cool little site for news

I while back I posted a couple of websites I did for review and got some good feedback - here is another one I just finished. I was annoyed having to check 20 sites a day for news, so I set up a little aggregation site.

Aptly cheesily named the Xtreme News Aggregator, its available at http://www.xna.us

Take a look and let me have some feedback. It should be ready for primetime and features

- 60 or so feeds so far including DVDTalk of course!
- Caches the news stories if they become unavailable
- Customize your own feed and even create your own RSS of combinations of newsfeeds
- Comments (I'd appreciate if someone would help me test this, its lonely to test alone)
- Categories..

By default not all feeds are shown (news goes by way to fast), to see all select ALL from the dropdown.

although the first link i actually tried to hit, took me to a dead link

How about having the articles open in the same window instead of a new window?

but that would browse you right off the page, and kindof defeat the purpose

Ok, I'm just a heavy google news user.

Still, when the new window opens, why does it has the back button just taking you to the same article?

Its because it uses a redirect to count your click before you are 'sent on' to the actual link - I dont even think about it anymore, but thats the reason anyway

if you decide to add deal sites.. bensbargains.net and techbargains.com both do rss feeds

and I assume dvdtalk is on there as well?

DVDTalk is there of course!

(And not a few certain competing sites - I gotta have some allegiance!)

I added all of the above and deals2buy as well under deals - just select Deals from the dropdown and go

Other suggestions are welcome of course!

a timed auto refresh would also be nice

A couple of improvements

- the pages load much much faster
- some more feeds
- You can go directly to subsections like

http://deals.xna.us
http://gaming.xna.us
http://business.xna.us

and for the hardcore :

http://all.xna.us

Keep ideas coming! Would a Konfabulator widget be cool?
