creating network file sharing password
i have 2 computers connected to a linksys router in my household. my brother set them up so that we can share files between the two but when i access his shared folder it asks for a password and when hes trying to access my shared folder it doesnt ask for any password. id like to know how you can set it up so that there is a password to access the shared folder. i guess easiest solution would be to not put any files i want to share in there but id still like to be able to put a password on it. both of us are running windows xp sp2 and these are the specs on our pcs:
my pc soltek sl-k890pro-939 bfg 6600 gt amd 64 3000 corsair vs 2x512 my brothers pc abit nf7-s amd xp 2500+ geil 2x512 also, if someone knows of a program to track cpu heat & fan speeds that is compatible with my soltek sl-k890, that would be great. coolmon and mbm dont support it as far as i know. thanks in advance |

EAsy question -- hope you had it answered if not, here goes.
Give 'Everyone' full control on this folder, but nothing else. Then create a user with a password that can access this folder. Give that username and password to anyone who you would want to access the folder. If your folder is small and not with a lot of documents, convert the folder to a compressed/zipped folder, and add a password. |
